Idiot LSU prof thinks Joe 6 Pack can print nukes with 3D printers

The threat of privately printed weapons will soon grow beyond the lethal handguns now in circulation. As we argue in research forthcoming in the October issue of the Journal of Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism, considering expected advances in the technologies, terrorist groups will threaten nations with 3-D printed chemical, biological and nuclear weapons within a couple of decades
. "rlol"

This is the kind of moron that passes for a college professor these days. I highlighted the printing nukes claim but the article is full of nearly equal stupidity, and actual outright lies such as this:
This is not a futuristic speculation; 3-D printed handguns are already on the street. The government is struggling to respond to these guns, which are hard to detect and deadly.
Oh, the carnage from single shot plastic guns, it's horrible. :smilelol5:

The comments following this idiot's screed are great though.

The saddest thought of all is that these guys actually get paid for what they think, not what they do.

This is embarrassing.

But in LSU's defense, idiot professors are in every college campus in the country. :banghead:

Perhaps we should require a background check & registration for anybody wanting to buy a 3-D printer... :evil2:

I'm still trying to figure out how a guy would go about 3-D printing himself a plutonium ball.

Very carefully, and slowly, with special attention to the diameter. :evil2:

If you ever want to have kids, don't 3-d print your plutonium ba... Oh, wait. I misunderstood.

Maybe I should apply for a professorship at LSU.

All worthy answers.

It's not just in colleges. Look at what the Congressmen come up with!

One was worrying about the servicemen in Guam causing the island to tip over. That's just the idiotic one that pops into my mind. There are many others.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Hank Johnson, dem(naturally) Georgia. Also wanted congress to "imagine a world without balloons".

I think he was misquoted, or certainly misunderestimated. He was saying "buffoons" not balloons. Then he realized most of his colleagues would be affected. A slip of the ear, not the tongue!

Oh great. Now look what you've done. Now we'll have some anti 3D printer mothers group pushing for universal background checks. No more private sales at 3D printer shows. Have to fill out a form 4473-3d. Some states will have a 10 day waiting period. "rlol"
