This probably just a lot of hot air from angry people, but situational awareness is always a good thing.
Members of the #FYF911 or XXXXXXX and #BlackLivesMatter movements called for the lynching and hanging of white people and cops. They encouraged others on a radio show Tuesday night to “turn the tide” and kill white people and cops to send a message about the killing of black people in America.
We need to take all threats seriously. I wish more people I know did.
Chance favors the prepared.Making good people helpless doesn't make bad people harmless. There is no safety in denial. When seconds count the Police are only minutes away. Sometimes I really wish a lawyer would chime in and clear things up. Do we have any lawyers on this forum?

These guys are doing wonders for ammo sales at my local Academy. Every time they get fired up and start marching, I go out and buy another load of ammo, just to be on the safe side.

To be clear, I do take the threat seriously. I just can't walk around angry about it all the time. It's already part of living in condition yellow.
Sorry, I didn't mean to point you out specifically, just using a selected snippet of info to make a point.
I don't walk around angry either and I'm sure you do take it seriously and are aware.
The people of whom I speak take nothing seriously, are not situationally aware. They would rather ignore the signs than heed the warnings and take necessary precautions.

If you would have told me a few years ago I would be carrying a firearm everywhere I went and spent the amount of money I have spent on training, guns, etc... I would have told you you were crazy. I didn't go places I felt I needed a weapon but, now it is coming to me. The neighborhoods that you thought were safe, not so much anymore.
When does rhetoric protected by the 1st Amendment become a terroristic threat? I would think someone holding a weapon and shouting at police that he intended to kill police would approach that line...
CAUTION - IF YOU WATCH THE VIDEO IN THIS STORY THERE IS OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE...

Don't talk about it, do it. What is the worst that could happen?
God Bless America, and please hurry. When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me

I'm reading sarcasm into this, but I don't disagree with the sentiment. We've seen what happens when a community chases out the cops (Baltimore) but I'm curious (on an intellectual level, don't take this as anything other than hypothetical thinking) about how that same situation would play out on a local/statewide level out here. I suspect it would be much different, given the attitudes and the level of armament...
If white people were yelling this junk about black people the federal agencies would be investigating them for possible hate crimes. The DOJ would be holding news conferences on the subject.

... and the news media would be blasting reports about it every hour.

There are quite a few loony white people that do spout junk like this. That's all that I see this as.. Another looney on the side of an issue that we don't like blown up by the media.

The cops kept things peaceful, which was exactly the right thing to do at a time when relations with the black community are on edge.
Whether it's black lives matter or the black panthers, when you don't hold all the same standards out of political correctness you empower them to do what they want. Was that "exactly the right thing"?
