Uncle Sam is $18 trillion in debt. Facing huge unemployment numbers. Government computer data seems to be hacked every day. Billions of dollars squandered or misused by hundreds of federal departments. And they want to verify that WE can handle our finances responsibly? This is a joke, right?

Sadly, no. We have a bunch in office that regard 1984 and Animal Farm as primers, not warnings. Our Dear Leaders regard themselves as More Equal than us, and will use any means necessary to neuter us in order to back that More Equal claim up. Thus, they can do whatever they want without regard to consequences, but we need to be constantly looking over our shoulders and checking our Handbooks of Permissible Behavior.

One key issue that I have not seen people mentioning is this push for both VA and SS disqualification sidesteps the entire issue of judicial adjudication.

Remember, 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) states in part:
18 U.S.C. § 922(g) It shall be unlawful for any person—
...
(4) who has been adjudicated as a mental defective or who has been committed to a mental institution;
...to ship or transport in interstate or foreign commerce, or possess in or affecting commerce, any firearm or ammunition; or to receive any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.
Some nimrod, anti-gun, faceless federal bureaucrat pushing pencil onto paper does not constitute "adjudication". :banghead: :banghead:

:iagree:

This is exactly the point I was making. The Executive bureaucracy should not be in the business of unilaterally limiting citizen's rights, plain and simple. If properly enacted Legislation or proper Judicial proceedings limit a citizen's rights, it is only up to the Executive to ensure that such determinations are executed.

In today's America, those unelected bureaucrats make far more laws than Congress does - 173,000 new regulations, which have the force of law, in a recent 10-year period. Actual laws passed by Congress is a small fraction of that.

Interesting that some questioned whether this was the case with vets. Now it's happening to non-vets. Who's next?

Wouldn't that be something if everyone in Congress had their guns taken away and they weren't allowed to purchase any for the same reason? They cannot manage their finances either.

NRA Applauds Congressman Johnson for Swift Action on Social Security Gun Grab

Tuesday, July 21, 2015
The National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) today lauded Congressman Sam Johnson (R-TX), Chairman of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Social Security, for his swift action urging the Social Security Administration (SSA) to stop developing a system to enter social security beneficiaries into the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), which is the Obama administration’s latest effort to deny millions of Americans their Second Amendment rights without due process.

guess that means my daughters cannot have any firearms since their SSA checks go into my checking account.... (receive it because of my disability, one is 13, other is 5) and since its the government, they will not check ages anyhow, just see that their checks goes into a different account... (Black Suburban, here they come :mrgreen: )
