The news makes a worker at a dry cleaners across the street from Camp Mabry in Austin a little uneasy. That's because Yvonne Cantu does not like guns. "They just scare me, too many different, too many different stories, too many things that has happened," Cantu said.
"So I guess they would be protecting themselves as well as whoever works there with them," Cantu said.
That's as long as the guns stay on their side of the street.
Cantu works at Four Sons Quality Cleaners on 35th Street.
Check out the spin the article puts on guns and how business owners are afraid of soldiers carrying guns. Solders, who are trained on how to use guns; it's ridiculous. Just goes to show you how uneducated some folks are. I'm calling for a boycott on the Four Sons Quality Cleaners on 35th street.
What do yall think?

Considering the business they get from the base across the street, you can be sure their business is going to take a hit.

Those business owners would have a different outlook if their environment turned into an instant Fallujah or Mogadishu. Unable to "help themselves" they would be looking for a man to "materialize out of thin air with a gun" to help them. Preposterous thought process...

I think it is a bit harsh to think about or impose a boycott because one dry cleaner has an idiot employee who has nothing to do with the situation or any potential outcome. What can the business do to "cleanse itself" of this affront? Fire the hapless woman?
You might as well refuse to listen to or watch the TV station for being silly enough to run such a story. That might be a good idea in any event. There is probably a statistical correlation between the growth of TV watching and the decline in intelligence over the last 60 years or do.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

I do agree with you in the sense that the source of the article seems to be unprofessional and was a strange attempt to paint the governor's decision as somehow a problem or concern for local business owners. If they wanted to really have merit of convincing they could have interviewed the owner instead of some employee, but not only that business owner, but many more to get a wide range of opinions.

They may have interviewed others, that is possibly the only opinion that agreed with their agenda.
The military, be it N.G. or A.F. or any other branch, need to be armed against terrorists attacks. Perhaps, once the military is adequately armed here at home, the next attack will end in dead terrorists instead of our military.
Some though, would rather the military remain disarmed and die by the hands of terrorists because having an armed domestically based military somehow frightens their tender feelings. Their feelings trump all. Defenseless, dead military? Their attitude: Who cares as long as the delusional 'gun free zones' remain in place.
To those weenies I say, imagine reality and learn how to shoot and then arm yourself. You might very well be next on the hit list...
