BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A Baltimore County family is warning other parents after they say police were called to their house over something that happened during a virtual school lesson. The incident is raising concerns over privacy and safety in the era of online learning.

{——SNIP——}

In his pursuit of becoming an Eagle Scout, Courtney says her son has learned how to shoot a BB gun and an airsoft gun. He’s also taken three levels of archery lessons. His mother says he stores his bow and guns on this wall in his bedroom. It’s never been a problem until June 1, when police pulled up outside her house.
The left and the administrative state (but I repeat myself) have gone full totalitarian.

This is really hard to imagine.

We have really descended.

I would have told the cop you need a warrant!

The problem is that this is the People's Republic of Maryland. In all matters related to guns, the public has no rights. I would expect the police, based on the school principal's input, to claim it was an exigent circumstance.

I am a little surprised that the airguns weren't confiscated and charges weren't filed since I am pretty sure each of the guns pictured has a "high-capacity" magazine as defined by the Statists. That compound bow is problematic as well since everyone knows that the compound in compound bow refers to the amount of damage it inflicts.

We live in interesting times. Theater of the absurd is now everyday.

I... Uh... What exactly...

Never mind. I'm out of words right now. I guess I'll go back to CHAZ where barely-out-of-high-school kids carrying real ARs they probably have no idea how to use are patrolling the "borders," are blessed by the left, and are snacking on non-GMO vegan soy products they beg from sympathetic passers-by.

I'll bet that evil, deplorable Eagle Scout in Maryland may even have had plans to attend West Point. We definitely need to quash the radical, fringe element of society that is capable of producing disturbed children like this. They need to be eradicated.

So the logic seems to be that if you are doing "virtual school" from your home then you can't have anything in your home that is not allowed in the school building? I sure hope this principal has no alcohol, pets, or other things in her home that are not allowed at school.

A better question is why would the police show up when they got this report? Do they always show up when they get reports of things that are not even crimes? Do they not even check the law before sending a unit to someone's home? Maybe we should call them and tell them that the principal is watching TV on her couch, so they should go arrest her.

This is my question on this whole thing. Why did the police bother responding? Obviously we do not know what was actually reported to them by the principal, but if it is the facts reported in the article, the police should never have bothered responding.

The second part of this question is why I support breaking some things out of police response. If it is not a crime, it should not be the police responding. Social workers in some cases, mental health people in other cases, and animal control specialists in still others. I have no idea who should have responded to a call like this, other than mental health workers to the principal's home.

The police in Maryland vary with the political landscape they serve. In Western Maryland and the Eastern Shore, I doubt that officers would have bothered with a call like this. But this is Baltimore. As least some of the cops in that area are all in with the concept that "civilians" should not have guns and probably won't miss an opportunity to grind people into the ground if they could. Politics runs deep in the Baltimore area and I'd guess that if they want to keep their jobs, they are going to go along. I used to drive through MD a fair amount. I ran a project in Gaithersburg. I was fearful of run ins with officers and was on my best behavior. I doubt that things have gotten any better since I was there.

All I can say is that there must be no crime in Baltimore is the cops have the time and manpower to deal with bull like this.
