Guy was speaking publicly while protesting outside the mayor's house in Portland. He said, in a nutshell, that if Antifa wants to be violent, I'll show them what real violence looks like. FBI took his guns for a minimum of a year and had him involuntary committed to a VA hospital for 20 days.
Red flag laws are bad, bad, bad news.

Any news on this joke of a law going to the Federal level? Better build myself a bunker soon if so because if you look at someone wrong or a ex-employee is angry a lot of us are in trouble.

I don’t support red flag laws, but please don’t say stupid violent things either. Don’t threaten, don’t insinuate harm. Red flag laws are more concerning with regards to abuse & unaccountably, & denying a constitutional right based on hearsay. This happens with Child Protective Services. A neighbor doesn’t like you or your kids, they call anonymously and the next thing you know CPS is in your house questioning you and your kids. Don’t forget the #metoo nonsense and how innocent men are railroaded & ruined by false reports with no consequence to the accuser.

Given the bureaus recent track record on behavior, this vet should get a strong 2A attorney and win his guns back early. Under what authority are the feds using state powers to imprison him and steal his property?

The problem with the "Mental Health" system is they literally do Not need a shread of evidence to lock you up for a 72 hour hold. In this guy's case he was angry and said the wrong things, guilty of this myself in the past luckily I grew out of that behavior.
As far as the 72 hour "evaluation" goes you need to have a attorney on your side and also have family members to be there visiting (everyday) to show the Legal system you have Backup. They also MUST be there at your court hearing where they can be a character witness!! You are allowed a Cell Phone without a camera, get this immediately so you can keep in touch with family ect. Do not use their phone and if you do don't say anything incriminating and infom the person you speak to its all being recorded.
Main thing is to NOT talk to anyone while there because the way it's setup, they have inside Narcs. Don't NOT sign anything while your there also deny all medications. TRY to keep calm while doing this or they will forcibly medicate you by injection while three basically prison guards hold you down. They also make it look and feel like a prison for intimidation purposes, even to the point of having "Fake Prison Gangs" Example: If you were to play a card game with anyone, they have the Joker card saying your "Life is in Danger, Play this card to Live" Don't fall for these Tricks they try!!
They go as far as having [Carnival fun house mirrors] in certain locations of the facility. Even the showers are setup where the first couple have Cold water only. It's more of mental torture instead of mental help!
Mental Health system is a total Joke, its setup to keep people that do not need help at all in some cases. Your probably wondering Why? It all boils down to $$$, everyone is in on it also from the Judge at the location down!! Aka: Job Security.
So the moral of this is to try to be respectful and never say anything aggressive or even something out of context to anyone, especially a Dr. They have been know just out of Spite to lock you up for disrespecting them.
This military man should have been givin some leeway, I mean he fought for his country and they treat him like this. It makes me sick to see any of our military personnel treated with any form of disrespect. .

Unfortunately I know more than I should about the mental health system. I would agree with most of what is above.
It only takes two people and a judges signature to get you picked up by the police. I suspect you will be mad when it happens. You then will not do well at the initial psych evaluation. If it happens to you, resist the temptation to be upset. Remain calm. Otherwise you will fail this interview and you will get held for 30 days. Heaven forbid you do anything violent. Being calm the next day will not help. Fail the sanity hearing in 30 days, good by life.
Remember the neighbor who hates you, they are about to get even.
It’s about money. Do you have insurance? If so, more reasons to help you. Are you rich with a new wife or greedy kids you said your removing from the will. Lots of reasons to have you locked up and in their control.
Poor crazy people seem to miss out on good mental care. But not people with money.
Last tip, use the court appointed attorney. Trust him. Get witnesses for him to interview. Do not defend yourself.
You see if you are really crazy you won’t do any of this. You can’t help yourself because, well your crazy.
Remember the eye test. All you have to do is look in and at their eyes.
