So What Do They Want?
I mean, yes, I understand that the radicals simply want full disarmament of private citizens. Simple as that. A few will openly state that as the ultimate goal, while most others who desire that end are smart enough to not state it openly, but work towards that goal nonetheless.
Of course, they know they can't get there directly, so their solution seems to be incrementalism (and has been for a long time). So I guess my question is in regards to what else they can come up with between where we currently are and their ultimate goal of total disarmament.
What I see right now, in addition to all the requirements already in place, some of the more trendy steps they're currently pursuing include:
1. Prohibition of sales (and possession) of "assault weapons" (or even any semiauto weapon)
2. Background checks for ALL transactions including friends and family
3. Red flag laws
4. Change domestic violence laws to include dating partners
5. Magazine round limits
6. Raise minimum age to buy any gun from 18 to 21 (or higher)
7. Require a license to own (not carry-own) any firearm
8. Require locked storage of ANY firearm in your home
Obviously these measures aren't going to stop so called "gun violence." But a little thing like a bunch of new "preventative" measures not working certainly isn't going to slow the march of the progressives toward the "bigger, better, more effective" new laws yet to come.
So I'm just wondering: what IS next, after these? It's just difficult for me to even imagine what other ideas they could possibly come up with in the incessant march of incrementalism on the way to the ultimate goal of disarmament.
So what is next? Mandatory psychological exams for gun possession? Requiring some kind of special clothing or marking visible from 50 feet away indicating to the public that you own a firearm? Requiring all firearms be stored at police stations?
Seriously, what other proposed restrictions are we liable to face in the coming years?

Re: So What Do They Want?
Rendering the Freedom to own firearms almost impossible.
All the above laws should be struck down as unconstitutional. If a law is ineffective, why it is a law in the first place?
Rights should not be limited unless the restriction passes the utmost tests to protect the right of the citizens

defacto ban by making so many hoops to jump through, people won't bother being a circus performer.
In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law to pursue a natural justice.

Re: So What Do They Want?
Tax all firearms, ammo, and related items to the point that only the rich can afford them.
Already for folks like myself, disabled on a very limited and tight budget I can’t go to the range and shoot/practice as much as I would like to or need. Add big taxes and it would become almost impossible.![cryin :cryin](./images/smilies/cryin.gif)

Re: So What Do They Want?
Taxes, especially on ammo.
Requiring a license or background check to buy ammo.
Permit fee for each firearm owned or to be purchased. Renewable annually.
Mandatory insurance covering, I don't know, something. Because you own a gun.
Restrictions on commerce, such as prohibiting firearms/ammo to be purchased with a credit card or pressuring businesses to refuse service to gun owners.
Among many other things. They'll never stop. This won't end well. I pray that it will, but it won't.

Re: So What Do They Want?
As the passage of unconstitutional rights restriction legislation increases incrementally and the country fully wakes up to where this is going, I expect to see noncompliance with such laws increase incrementally as well. Sheriffs in several states have already made major moves in this direction. Pressure between the two trends will build until .....what?thatguyoverthere wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2019 10:20 pm I mean, yes, I understand that the radicals simply want full disarmament of private citizens. Unless something big changes for the better, no, this will not end well.

I agree that taxation is a plausible part of the progressive socialist agenda toward disarming the law abiding citizensJakeTheSnake wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2019 11:19 pm Tax all firearms, ammo, and related items to the point that only the rich can afford them.

Bottom line, ultimately it’s not about firearms....they want you to submit or to die.

The US is unique in that TRKBA, is written into our Constitution. That is the only thing standing between us, and complete tyrannical takeover. The left knows this, and hate it. Because they know they cannot control us, if we are able to fight back. They use words like " common sense" to try to create the impression, that we are somehow senseless, for clinging to our rights. They want us to provide them with a record of every gun we own, which will make it easier, to find us, and remove guns from us. They won't try it on large groups at one time because they know we can muster an effective army to repel them. But they will then write laws, to give them authority, to take our guns one at a time, because we will have been deemed unfit. This is what red flag laws are designed for. They then will designate certain types of firearms for prohibition, like they did with machine guns, and suppressors. And of course taxing ammo, and guns will create such a hardship, that we can't afford to buy them. They have effectively taken control of the MSM, social media, as well as academia, so that only one message gets out, and the younger generation, won't see disarmament as a restriction.
We must remain vigilant, teach our kids and grandkids, ignore the slurs and insults, vote only for those who understand our rights, and never refuse to excercise our rights.
Despite what the MSM would have us believe, we are still the majority. But we must draw the line, and be prepared to defend it with our lives. The left is not coming for us with tanks and helicopters, but through insidious means, with a smile, and smooth talk.
Take away the Second first, and the First is gone in a second

Prof RJ Rummel has shown that historically Democide is the biggest killer. The Communist PRC and USSR were 20th century leaders in democide
As Mao said, Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun
Democide would include "Strategy of tension" operations that you probably never heard about on legacy media.
America giving up its guns equals political oppression and opens up the door to "Mega-Murder" (another RJ Rummel term).

Absolutely... it kills 2 birds with one stone- beyond guns/ammo, they will need all the tax revenue they can find to push the socialist agenda

Taxing a constitutional right is a big problem. Can they tax the exercise of free speech?

The gun grabbers understand American history. They know marching to Concord and Lexington will not end well, so taking the long road bit by bit is their agenda.
