This was in the news last August. When I clicked on the thread, I thought there was another riot in Portlandia.

Ha! Guess that’s one danger of reacting to things in my twitter feed.

They are marching for Justice - "These cops need to be locked up!"
In the 10th paragraph, we get to the
why of the march:
"At the other end of the lot nearer to Southwest Third Avenue, there was a fight and a shooting, leaving two men wounded. Police then saw Kimmons turn toward them or head their way holding a gun, sources told The Oregonian/OregonLive.
The officers yelled commands and fired at Kimmons with their handguns, striking him in the upper torso and leg. Between the sergeant and officer, 10 to 12 shots were fired."
A total of 5 guns were recovered at the scene. Along with the two people Kimmons is suspected of shooting.

Aren't there protests in Oregon most weekends?
I didn't see the antifa connection or any real violence in this recent link though. It seemed to be a peaceful, orderly protest. The reason for the protest seemed to be loony tuna but the protesters last weekend seemed well behaved.
Maybe all the ill mannered ones were in DC pounding on the Supreme Court doors and knocking pro-Kavanaugh signs out of the hands of mild mannered seniors.

Just a bunch of very respectable "yoots" out for a stroll. How dare those people interfere with their cars.

What are you supposed to do when you are driving and they are blocking the road? In Texas I am inclined to just plow through them. I doubt you would get away with it anywhere else, maybe not even here. We need a test case haha.

Why doesn't law enforcement step in and stop this nonsense?
Wait, I know the answer.
A lot of socialist/marxist local governments applaud this type crime while the rank and file L.E.are poltically handcuffed and frustrated, unable to do their jobs without being fired and losing their pensions.
Hey, they have families and need income too, so I understand, kinda, sorta...

No cop bashing! They're just following orders.

I agree they may have been following orders, but, interjecting politics into law enforcement directives is going to get someone killed!

Sadly there were a couple of motorcycle officers less than a block away sitting there watching this as it transpired. Odds are they were told by their highers to do nothing unless they witnessed a felony in progress.
Chiefs would rather explain doing nothing than have to explain to the public why they stepped in on what the press would no doubt bill as a "peaceful protest" that then only got out of hand once the police "agitators" stepped in.
Without a doubt though in that part of the country for sure much of the "civic leadership" endorses this kind of behavior from the left.
