California congressional candidate attacked with knife

I am wondering whether or not it would have been legal for an individual, licensed by the state of Ca, to carry a concealed handgun at this particular city fair.

I imagine that this knife-wielding lunatic would have messed his shorts as he turned to run when he learned that the target of his hatred was armed for self-defense.

Unfortunately, it probably would have been illegal for Mr. Peters to defend himself at this event.

It didn’t happen as switchblades are illegal in CA.
