Kyle Kashuv, the pro-2A student who survived the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, went to a range for the first time this weekend with his father. He shared photos and comments on social media of his first day on a range.

At school today, he was summoned to the office of the Broward Sheriff school resource officer, where, according to Kashuv, he was interrogated and intimidated by multiple deputies regarding his activities at the range this weekend.

What exactly did the boy do wrong by going to the range with his dad and an instructor to warrant such scrutiny by the school?

Did he make any threats? Is he mentally ill like that Cruz kid?

This seems like retaliation for something.

if I was the boy's father I'd withdrawl him from school and sue their pants off. Or at the very least enroll my kid somewhere else.

Their gross overreaction makes their prior inaction appear even more incompetent.

Did they illegally infringe upon his right to counsel? Subjecting a minor to questioning by law enforcement officers with regard to a "criminal matter" (by their own admission/implication) seems like a civil rights issue.

Why is Israel still sheriff? The guy is grossly incompetent.

I was wondering if they have a policy that a parent must be present.

Prior to this type interrogation, if such a situation comes up, you teach your children to demand a lawyer and then clam up.

He dared to have a political opinion different from those in charge.

Teach your children to say respectfully: "I would like to speak to my parents and my lawyer privately." And then to repeat that, and only that, as long as they keep getting questioned. AND...put your lawyer's number into the kid's phone so they can actually call him if they are allowed to do so.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Broward County SO ignored 30+ calls to the Parkland shooter's home. Then they stayed outside while 17 people were murdered. Now these brave souls harass a kid for going to the range with his Dad. I hope some pro-2A attorney in Florida offers to help this kid.

It’s absolutely retaliation - because he has also been a voice against the incompetence of the Broward County SO.
