As the linked article suggests, Israel will probably get along fine without H&K firearms, but I happen to believe that companies that interject themselves into such matters should lose customer support.

Well, I won't be buying any H&K anything, anytime soon.

I sold my H&K45C little while back and was actually considering an sk variant. After this, no more H&K until they lift this no Israel restriction, which could be forever, and I'm fine with that.
I'll stick with Sig and Glock for my defensive handgun needs.

Is the political situation in Germany so bad that they have to take such an action? There really isn't another explanation as to why an arms company would stop selling arms to people that have a legitimate need for them.

It's more that the Germans are taking sides because they fear the Islamists...

They'll never get it straight. H&K is the mqajor firearm supplier for the German military and many police divisions. They went bankrupt many times and nobody knows why. I guess the german government owns H&K. The German military uses the G36 made by H&K and that thing is flawed but they keep using it. The MP 5 is sold all over the world and perhaps the best product they ever made. And last but not least the Mexican government is one of their major customers.

Interesting. If you go to the link H&K has to the "Corruption Perception Index" organization, and look up Mexico, out of the 176 countries, they are pretty close to the bottom with a score of 30 (U.S. score is 72, Canada 84).

I did not read the article, however, US taxpayers are shelling out 10 million dollars a day to support Israeli Defense Industry. US Defense Sector has been cut by 10% since Obama came to power and we are still waiting to be restored under Trump Administration.

Israel can produce anything from 22LR to Star War Weapons, ICBMs and Hydrogen bombs too.

Well, if anyone in Israel wanted some HK firearms, all they would have to
do is find a straw buyer in a country of which HK approves, and have it drop shipped
to Israel.

But since HK has chosen to abandon the Israeli market, Israeli's have plenty of companies
that WANT to sell them firearms.

I do not think it will have much of a overall effect on the security of Israel.

I am betting they did not even sell that many weapons to them anyway.

I do not think Israel is hurting for small arms.

Maybe they can stop selling to New York, California and a few other states. Israel can take care of itself. With further reading though this may not be H&K but the German government shutting them down.
