Reciprocity in D.C.?

Rep.Thomas Massie (R. KY) has filed a bill that would extend reciprocity for HLs issued by the various states. The proposal is, of course, motivated by the recent Arlington shooting.

While this was a horrific, and tragic occurance, I think this puts restrictive gun laws in the spotlight. It makes even left wing politicians realize that by disarming law abiding citizens, they have made them targets. Thier typical arguments won't work, because the shooter wasn't a redneck, NRA member.
Their only fear is that they won't have control over their subjects.

Reciprocity would be pretty useless to Congressmen and their staffers if they didn't also have an exemption to 18 USC 930 which covers Federal buildings.

Part of me would like to see one or more of them burned on that. It's within their power to change.

Just fluff press for Maddie - the shooting occurred in Virginia (already has reciprocity).
DC, as already pointed out is just chock full of Federal buildings, and it, along with Maryland, have made the process of a carry permit so onerous that few regular folks will ever be able to carry a weapon. And I am getting that they will continue to fight the entire reciprocity issue with all the resources they can muster.

On a more serious note, if something like this doesn't get the rules for federal buildings changed, what will? I'm not suggesting a beneficial change is likely, but maybe there's a chance.
