Hillary and a possible Gun Control Executive Order

"Russ Feingold, the former Democratic senator from Wisconsin who is running again in an attempt to win back his old Senate seat, was recorded at a fundraiser saying that Hillary Clinton might issue an executive order on guns."
And I seriously doubt if this ever happened that Republicans would do anything substantive to stop her, just as they did nothing to stop Obamacare, impeach or at least initiate impeachment proceedings of Obama/Lynch cartel etc.

I have no faith in the House Republicans either, but I think that the Senate would be a big stumbling block for Hitlery, trying to impose any gun control legislation by EO. Not to mention the pressure brought to bear by the NRA, and other 2A lobbying groups. BHO was stymied with any gun control legislation, and without a huge Democratic swing in Congress, I doubt she will be any more successful.
This is just one more illustration of how critical this election will be, not only at the Executive level, but every election in the Senate and the House.

Much to my dismay, the so-called Republican majority has shown itself to be no more than a congress of eunuchs when dealing with the current POTUS' schemes. I would like to live long enough to see a constitutional amendment establishing TERM LIMITS for congress and federal judges.

This is true. I saw some discussion in one of the leaked email exchanges that she plans to issue executive orders to "close the gun show loophole" and increase gun control.

She knows it well... think congressional subpoenas where requested info and docs were destroyed AFTER the order.

Here's the link to the email discussion. Notice the one being interviewed was given a heads up and they took steps to make it look like news.

Circling back around on guns as a follow up to the Friday morning discussion: the Today show has indicated they definitely plan to ask bout guns, and so to have the discussion be more of a news event than her previous times discussing guns, we are going to background reporters tonight on a few of the specific proposals she would support as President - universal background checks of course, but also closing the gun show loophole by executive order and imposing manufacturer liability.

How does she close the "gun show loophole" with an executive order??? First, any licensed gun dealers would still be able to sell at gun shows no matter what she does. Second, while she could rejigger the definition of "gun dealer" like they tried earlier this year, only gun dealers would still have to do background checks. And I don't think they can rejigger the definition enough to catch the folks who have built up a collection and want to sell pieces of it or the ones who very occasionally sell a gun or two.
I am more concerned about her reclassifying ammo or powder as explosives making it very difficult to buy. She could allow all the guns to remain but make it difficult or impossible to buy ammo. What's a gun without ammo!

If Killary is elected, I see potential 2A changes coming from her making the SCOTUS more liberal. Heller was 5-4 (conservative) and one of the 5 is dead. That could easily be 5-4 (liberal) the other way with a more liberal court. So no laws will be changed or passed through congress, but a liberal interpretation of the laws will be devistating to the 2A. This of course would take some time (a few years) to make its way through the courts. I hope she never gets elected, but if she does, I see this scenario as a possibility.
Personally, I think the next SCOTUS nominee is more important than who the POTUS is for the next 4 years.

What OldGringo said. There's another problem........ whether or not the senate and house would have veto-proof majorities on any gun control issue which would seek to override a Clinton EO. The fact is that probably neither chamber of Congress has such a veto-proof majority, nor would they have enough votes in either chamber to impeach, and convict her of a constitutional malfeasance in regard to the 2nd Amendment.
Term limits are badly needed.

That's why firearm manufacturers stock has risen and gun stores are running sales. You would hope the republicans would get off their hands and stop her. Some Democrats won't like her actions either.
