I am sad that now adays a leo will choose letting there own life be taken before shooting them because of a back lash. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are that the President, Justice Department, Democrats in the House and Senate, mainstream media, hollywood elites, sports figures, billionaire financiers and the activist groups they fund are complicit in all of this. Other thoughts I have on this violate forum rules and decorum.

This demonic administration is a cancer upon this Nation, no doubt. I do believe at same time that we have officers on the beat today who have no business being there, who never would have been hired had it not been for this political correctness nonsense, but then again, this goes right back to the top.

A good friend of mine was passed up because his civil service score wasn't the highest. He acknowledged that he needs to study up more, but, this is someone who served honorably two tours overseas in infantry as staff Sargent, is of very good moral character (spotless record), is active in the community, and is mma trained, Krav Maga fighter.

Point is, the bureaucracy we have keeps very able bodied and experienced individuals like him away from the job, with majority being book smart college grads who for the most part lack the grit needed.

My fellow firefighters, officers know this to be true, and while it's always been a torn, now it's paralyzing.

And no, my rant was not against college grads, I'm one of them. And yes I know that we have many braved man and woman who are braver then I could ever be on the beat.

But this bureaucratic mess has got to end at some point.

If we dont stand behind our police officers, they will leave. Its just that simple. I wish people would understand that!
Side note: the more LEOs that quit means the police department has to put up with the "not so good" ones cause they have to have personal!

How many times a day could you say this? :cheers2:

And people who have the right mental, emotional and physical skills won't sign up to replace those who quit in disgust. So we will end up with more of the "not so good" ones.

Our local PD just gave a civil service exam. They had 185 applicants. Of those, a hundred were eliminated on the first round of processing. 85 showed up for the civil service and physical exams. Of those I think they are down to about 20 for final consideration before progressing to a complete background investigation. I was amazed at how young they looked as I was headed into dispatch to pick up some served warrants. I don't remember being that young and eager. :) Even after a decade long break from LE, I will have my 30 years as a LEO next month. I plan to do 3 more then retire again from it for good. I find hope that even in this climate we still have bright young people wanting to enter this profession.

Years ago when I got out of the corps, I applied and tested for the PD there in town. The director of the academy called and said, "come talk to me" (I had a retired LEO friend of mine keeping tabs on my application.) We sat down and talked. He said, "I wanted to say this in person. I can't hire you. City legal says your credit isn't good enough." (I had a repo on my credit and little else to offset it.) He said, "I want you but I can't take you."

One instance does not make a trend. With your logic BLM can make a case for all LEOs being trigger happy homicidal maniacs. We need to evaluate each instance on it's own merits.
