Good article on TSRA website- too bad everyone who opposes firearms isn't so willing to do their own research and decision making.

Good read
I used to be an anti, then I grew up and thought for myself instead of only going off of what I had been told I should think.

When I was young and foolish I once voted for one of the most corrupt Democrat Louisiana governors ever to occupy the office. Then the Reagan years came along and I matured in my thinking. However, I was never anti-2A.

I don't think I was ever a firm anti-2a, but I bought into the myth of "common sense" gun controls when I was in my late teens early 20s. Now I realize that it's a complete ruse and based on bad data.

That is a most remarkable statement!

It was Huey Long, Louisiana Governor and Senator, who famously proclaimed, "One of these days, the people of Louisiana are going to get good government, ................... and they ain't gonna like it."

I think they are still waiting for that day....

My uninformed and foolish vote went to Edwin Edwards. At best he was entertaining.

Back in the 30's I had an aunt & uncle who lived in rural Louisiana. They were schoolteachers and outspoken critics of Huey Long. The road in front of their house was paved until it reached the edge of their property, where it was dirt. At the other edge of their property the pavement resumed. Every time a vehicle passed their house it raised a cloud of dust. That was Louisiana politics in the era of Huey Long.

It's all a matter of pie.

"All those who come in and support us now will get a full slice of pie. Those who come in and support us later will receive a smaller slice of pie, and those who never get around to supporting us are gonna get good government!" -- Governor Senator Huey Long

:iagree:

That would be really nice, however, most people are lazy and will simply read what they can find rather than work to find the truth. But most here, like you, already know that.
