What are you afraid of?

It's come to my attention with this latest #DisarmHate propaganda that liberals are truely afraid of the second amendment and what it may (or may not) mean for their personal safety and the safety of the nation as a whole.
This begs the question...What are they afraid of?
Since non of their proposed solutions target criminals but rather law abiding citizens, there are really only two logical conclusions:
1. They are afraid of guns themselves.
2. They are afraid of the people who carry them.
The first of these fears is worthy of a new definition in the DSM. There is currently a defined phobia of inanimate humanoid objects moving, as well as a definition for abnormal, pathological fears of injury. Thus it is not inconceivable to assume that a phobia of inanimate objects moving to cause injury would also be pathological.
Conversely, if they are afraid of TLC holders, not guns themselves...well in that case, consider this little 5'1" woman flattered.

I find that most Libs are generally mentally unstable creatures, usually under heavy doses of anti-depressant / anti-anxiety drugs, drug addicts and boozers, who in their subconscious id know that they can't be trusted with guns. That they strongly feel that it would end in either them hurting themselves or someone else, given their perverse state of unstable mind.
So, they extrapolate their instability upon rest of populous, being self centered that they are, thinking that all people are off same sick mindset.
That's my little opinion.

Hoplophobia is a political neologism coined by retired American military officer Jeff Cooper as a pejorative to describe an "irrational aversion to weapons."[1][2][3] It is also used to describe the "fear of firearms"[4][5] or the "fear of armed citizens."[6] Hoplophobia is a political term and not a recognized medical phobia.

Nice. But from a (studying) psychology prospective if we word it slightly differently one could argue that it should be medically recognized. To fear people is one thing, but the people in this equation are already regulated with background checks, proficiancy standards etc. Remaining fears are not founded in reality but in worst case scenario anxieties.

Basically they are fascists at heart. Indoctrinated early and often- reinforced constantly by a willing press and their political masters.

To quote my friend, "liberalism is the philosophy of the terminally stupid".

I think this applies to a percentage of them at least. They fear what they would do if they had guns and ammo in their hands so they assume all of us are at risk. In reality, the average law abiding gun owner has a very low crime rate. CHL holders on average have a lower crime rate than police.

They are not afraid, but they know full well that the second amendment is the only thing that stands between them, and their socialist agenda. If they can weaken, or totally destroy, the 2A, then they can move forward with their ideology of taking control of the 1A. They would be able to control speech, and like the AG has already put forward, prosecute someone for "hate speech"
The second amendment is so unique in the world that no other country, defines firearm ownership as a right, there may be places that have few restrictions, but there is no guaranteed right like we have here.
Liberals are not afraid of guns, otherwise they wouldn't surround themselves with armed security details.
The only thing they are afraid of, is an educated, populous, that doesn't need them to control every aspect of their lives. And the 2A says that they can't do so if we refuse to allow it.

The stampeding herd of lemmings, following those few liberals at the top of the liberal food chain, are running as fast as they can for the cliffs to jump off of. They are following their masters, because they are getting most everything that they base their existence on....for free. They have discarded the time proven belief in "work hard and ye shall reap your rewards". They don't want to work hard( like everyone on this forum), they just want the rewards.
IE: something for nothing.
The liberal hierarchy is doing everything they can, as fast as they can, to spawn a population who is(or is becoming) totally dependent on them for all of their wants, needs AND desires.
My heart breaks because America is changing. I want to do all I can to steer America back to what caused the U.S.A. to become the most powerful, successful, prosperous, and greatest Country on this earth.
God help us all if we are not able to steer the course America is following, and to get it back on track, to what once made US great.

Most leftists, young people in particular, are participating in group think. They are repeating rhetoric that sounds good to the ear.
I work around a lot of very liberal young people, many are far left. When one of them chooses to make a statement, usually torn from the liberal talking points cheat sheet, such as "we need common sense gun control", "we need common sense immigration reform", "Capitalism has failed", "Obama has been a great president" or "I hate Republicans", I always ask "why do you say that", or "by what metric"? In almost 100% of cases, they cannot tell me why they think what they think. They feel very strongly about the statement they just made, but in most instances, they cannot expound upon that feeling beyond the one-line statement. They are used to fighting the "no you can't" - "yes I can" argument but when you ask them to educate you, they struggle.
I had the following conversation with a very outspoken young Bernie Sanders supporter at work about a month ago.
Proud Liberal: "Obama has been a great president, I'm gonna miss him".
Me: "Some folks feel that way. By what metric would you say he has been a great president?"
PL: "What do you mean?"
Me: "You said he has been a great president. Tell me about that. How?"
PL: "He has sure been better than George Bush"
Me: "We're not talking about Bush, you were talking about Obama being great. Tell me about that"
PL: "Well, he cares about healthcare for women"
Me: "Really? I didn't know women couldn't get healthcare before he was president. That's interesting. Tell me more about that."
PL: "Aww come on man, you just want to bust my b@$$*"
Me: "No problem. Give it some thought and get back with me"
End of conversation.
This is about as far as any of these conversations go. So to answer your question, I don't think that most liberals are afraid of guns. I think their leadership wants the control that can be inflicted on an unarmed society, but the average liberal is just repeating talking points without giving it any thought.

I've had more conversations just like this than y'all would ever ever believe. They do absolutely no research and will repeat the same one liner that their liberal hero said whether the statement itself is true or completely false. Y'all would laugh if you heard some of the arguments that people hae given me; and it goes so much farther than just 2A.

I work with someone who is very anti-gun. I've had a number of conversations with her on the subject because she is bad about spouting liberal propaganda that she heard on the news without being able to back any of it up. When pressed on the issue of guns, her attitude is that something needs to be done. She sees all these shootings on the news and feels that something needs to be done. When asked what that something should be, she pops up with the usual liberal goals of more background checks and registration and bans, etc. When I point out why each of those would not have prevented any of the atrocities she cites as the reasons for such measures, she understands what I'm saying, but defaults to "well, something needs to be done." I think this is a lot of the problem right now. A lot of the public is being fed these horror stories, and the natural response is to be horrified and want something to be done to prevent it from happening in the future. The problem is that the Left is feeding them gun control as the solution, and that clearly won't work. They know it won't, so they know they will be able to continue to push for more and more until our guns are gone and it's too late.
I guess the tl;dr version is that most people aren't afraid of guns. They're afraid of criminals and terrorists. Every time the news talks about criminals and terrorists, they focus on the guns they used as being the problem. The problem is criminals and terrorists. The left will continue to be soft on criminals and terrorists so they they can take our guns.
