Liberal web-rag, Vox.com, showed people 11 different firearms, then asked which ones should be banned.

Nearly 3 out of 4 Democrats (
42% overall if you add Republicans) say the Remington 700 bolt-action rifle should be banned.

This is how the modern Democrat's mind (if you will excuse the assumption) works (if you will excuse the assumption).
If the Democrat doesn't want/care about something, the government should ban it. If the Democrat does want/care about something, the government must provide it, free.

I don't like dogs. One neighbor's dogs bark all the time. The other lets their pit bulls get out and they act aggressive and scare my wife. The dog across the street comes over and poops in my yard. Ban all dogs! Some people aren't responsible with their dogs, so nobody should be allowed to have one. I don't own any dogs, and I know very little about them, but I don't like them. They should all be confiscated by the federal government and be destroyed!
Don't even get me started about cars.

What really bothers me is the willingness of so many Republicans to ban scary looking guns.

Too many of the Republican establishment aren't really conservative nor concerned about our constitutional rights - only about staying in their positions of power. Along with that, there is a growing number of progressives calling themselves Republicans.

And it's stored in your gun safe with the muzzle pointing UP, right?

With respect to the OP. Considering the source (Vox) I would question the fact that a Republican would participate with them. It would not be a stretch for some of their loyalist to present themselves as Repub's to push their agenda. That being said, in relation to your statement, I do agree.
