I hope they realize how lucky they are and do not squander the 2nd chance they have been given.

I guess the DA got some pretty good seats for the Alabama/LSU game.
I'm confused by his reference to the work ethic, they were caught with pot and stolen guns, sitting in a park getting high. Did they have to farm the marijuana themselves?

That is why the NFL players think they deserve "___________________________." (Fill in the blank with the privileges they think they are "owed."

I don't think it's limited to NFL players, or just athletes. There are celebrities in sports, music, film, etc....that feel they are "owed".carlson1 wrote:That is why the NFL players think they deserve "___________________________." (Fill in the blank with the privileges they think they are "owed."

Athletes are coddled though all through school starting about Middle School and up. I know personally back in the late 70's in High School I spent more time out of school than in school. That carried right on over to Junior College.

Kids are raised to forget the STUDENT part of "Student Athlete". It becomes all about the sport(s).carlson1 wrote:

It's more than just about the sport/s. If you haven't, I suggest that you watch the somewhat fictional TV series, "FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS". It's available via NetFlix and quite uh,...er...entertaining.Flightmare wrote:Kids are raised to forget the STUDENT part of "Student Athlete". It becomes all about the sport(s).carlson1 wrote:

There is not a double standard for athletes. There are rules everyone is held to, and then there is athletes. Now, before you jump on me, they are a few hard to find exceptions to that truth.
Do what you say you're gonna do.
