The per capita calculation is skewed by Vermont’s small population (55 guns out of 626,562 people, or 8.78 guns per 100,000 people). When it comes to gun trafficking between states, the raw numbers indicate the actual volume of guns flowing out of a state, and the prevalence of dealers who may be selling guns that are tied to crime. If you take out the 55 Vermont-originated guns from all crime guns that came from outside of New York, the number of crime guns in 2014 would decrease to 2,556 from 2,611. That’s how much impact the flow of crime guns from Vermont has on the volume of crime guns in New York.
The number of crime guns in New York from Vermont is so small that it could even be attributed to one or two bad actors. Using the per capita measure of trafficked guns originating from Vermont is as pointless as counting guns trafficked per 100,000 head of cattle.
What a surprise....Clinton fudged some figures.
What's a bigger surprise is that the WaPo called her out on it, especially in regards to gun policy.

What did I tell you about statistics?
67.3% of them are misleading, the rest flat wrong.
This sounds terrible to a non thinking person, the fault of that libertine government up there that has no rules about firearms, no permits, etc. In reality, it is meaningless, calculated to deceive.
Well, it won't cost her my vote!

Once convicted and serving time for treason, she may finally come to appreciate the right to self- defense. If she thought it was "too inconvenient" to have to observe the rules surrounding the handling of classified information, we will see how she likes "jail house rules". I cannot wait for the results of the FBI investigation!

If they checked to see how many crimes with firearms were perpetrated by pickle eaters they'd probably want ban pickles.

Clinton has to be the most anti-2nd amendment candidate I know of. If she wins the election I'm concerned about the appointments to the Supreme Court, may push back 2nd amendment rights for decades.

The missing logic here is: if that's the case, why isn't there a skyrocketing crime rate in Vermont? Same thing with the other "gun source" states.
