I am certain that most of us noticed how Obama's visit to Texas was completely free from any counter protest / violence, a tribute to the professionalism of our Texas Law Enforcement and the fact that we Texans recognize and adhere to Constitutional principles.

By way of contrast, in Obama's hometown , left wing anarchists disrupted Trump's rally and the Chicago police preached their version of "moral equivalence". Black Lies Matter, Move-on, Occupy, etc., appear to want a civil war. Maybe they will get their wish?

My wife & I watched the live news coverage on the 'riot'. The first thing that came into my mind was "is this a repeat of the 1968 Democratic Convention riots in Chicago? Sure looks like it to me."

Why would left wing anarchists demonstrate violently during the Head Community Organizer's visit? They're on the same side.

The violence attending the 1968 Democrat Convention was part of the shanghai'ing of the Democrat Party by the doper dirtball hippies, the Kerry-Fonda-Clinton Alinskiites et al crowd in league with the communist party. It's been all downhill ever since.

If they do want it, they are singularly stupid. We, as supporters and exercisers of the 2nd Amendment, are far more prepared for something like that than they are. Actually, I don't want it either because to seriously want such a catastrophe would be unwise — but unlike those crazies on the left, I've actually considered the possibility of violently transformative social unrest/collapse, and have been preparing accordingly. Those idiots are like the grasshopper who played the summer away while the ant worked, and I'm sure they think that they are entitled to a share of my assets in that event, but they will find singularly hard and bitter cheese at my property line.

The sad truth of the matter is we have too many elements that feel a violent solution is the answer to our problems. First off we have the "#FeelTheBern" and the "#ThrillOnTheHill" crowds who think just enough violence and revolution would allow certain parties to take control and implement martial law until the "more educated" people could replace that annoying constitution with something a little more socialist. Then we have the "#PortsFortsAnd10SquareMiles" crowd who feel this is the ideal time to "Kick It Off" and push the reset button so that our country can go back to 1890 vintage governance.

The reality is that we really want neither of these sides to get their way because the constitution gets shredded either way. Revolutions tend to devolve into warlord controlled regions with lawlessness running rampant and freedom being forbidden to all but the warlords and their friends. In reality they are two sides of the same coin, and it's value is less than what you can get for it as scrap. Should we see a revolution start because of these idiots I call dibs on the position of "Warlord of West Texas".

I agree. My point was more to the notion that I don't want a car accident either, but I make sure that my cars have seat belts, and I actually use them; while conversely, the other side doesn't have seat belts, and wouldn't wear them if they did, but would feel entitled to take mine if they changed their minds.

I could really go off on this one, but... In deference to Mr Cotton's wishes for conduct on this site, I'll make a few pretty reserved comments.

If indeed the agitation was caused by "MoveOn" and Mr. Soros, wouldn't the FBI (guessing here) need to begin an investigation into foreign agents interfering with our electoral process?

Not that I doubt that this could very much be true!

The difference in the behavior of "The Left" and "The Right" is as always night and day. We look to the rules and they mock the rules and those who follow them. They make a mockery of the First Amendment and deep in the heart of Texas, the current President conducts fundraising and political bashing without so much as a hint of protest or hostility.

Like several others have either stated or alluded, I think that many on the Left are significantly underestimating the capacity for resistance and yes, violence from the folks who Nixon called the "silent majority". Unfortunately, I think we're marching closer and closer to some sort of powder keg event that could set this nation ablaze in the blink of an eye.

The protester in 1968 that Richard Daly and the Democrat machine were oppressing and beating are the very factions/organizations that today are embraced by the Democrats. SDS, Youth International Party (yippies), and Vietnam war protest groups among others.
