A Colorado man who was tied up and robbed at gunpoint in his own home may face charges for shooting and killing the suspect, who was fleeing in a stolen car

Thank Goodness I live in Texas. It would be even more of a tragedy if homeowner is charged & convicted in court of law. I also agree with OP that if it were to happen to lawmakers they would feel different.

As I remember it from when we lived in CO, the person must be in your home, or must be presenting a direct threat to your life. This person obviously was not as he was driving away from the incident.
