If I understand correctly, his point is to highlight the differing respect the left gives the first and second amendments.
Brilliant. I don't know anything about this guy, but this is great.

I Love it!! They need to also add a requirement that a journalist cannot sell a story without first having the buyer submit to a background check to be sure they don't use the story irresponsibly, or have used the printed word irresponsibly in the past, and then hold the journalist liable if someone uses their story in the commission of a crime.

Don't forget that a journalist from another state cannot practice here unless he obtains a valid non-resident journalism license, or there is a reciprocity agreement in place with his or her home state.

Camera ranges, heavily restricted by zoning, of course.
What gun owners suffer here is quite similar to restrictions upon journalists in a totalitarian country.

No business ever wanted " 60 Minutes" to darken their front door.

Of course the left can't take a joke. This is great and a good way to get some intelligent and uninformed people to think. Unfortunately there is no discussion with the hard left or rabid anti gun people.
I liked one of the comments about limiting words cause nobody needs 140 characters.

What Pitts is doing is turning Saul Alinsky's rules back onto the liberals
http://www.bestofbeck.com/wp/activism/s ... r-radicals.
He's using parody/rhetoric to ridicule the opposition's position.
And the comments in the article are cleverly piling on.

What's the problem?
We require licensing for just about every lawful profession and occupation, doctors, lawyers, dry cleaners, morticians, stock brokers, real estate salesmen, masseuses, builders, contractors, engineers, teachers, preachers, and a lot more. These generally require proof of a minimum level of education, sometimes a successful score on a qualifying exam, a background check, and, horror of horrors, proof of lawful status.
Anybody can say they are a journalist, no license, no education, no test, no background investigation, nothing. It's like the Friday night poker game, "guts or better to open." "I'll say you're one if you'll say I'm one!"

Dateline, South Carolina - Today, America's Sweetheart Michael Bloomberg announced funding to derail a legislative plot infringing the rights of left wing journalists.
A spokesmatron from Moms Demand Adjectives praised Bloomberg's gesture, saying measures to license news writers targets basic freedom. "They say all they want to get are manual typewriters because no one needs them. Next they will come after our Selectrics, and before long the Bureau of Allegory, Trope, and Figures of Speech (BATF) will require an English professor to sign off before you can get a word processor."
A representative from the Coalition To Stop Grammar Violations agreed journalism faces a slippery slope. "They came for assault weapons, and the media was delighted to report it. Then they came for high capacity magazines, and no correspondents wrote in opposition to the tyranny. If they get the journalists, who is going to write the headlines praising common sense restrictions? They should just think about that!"
