This will likely gain no traction, but it's at the very least a decent message towards the tyrant in the WH.

Note the ACLU "response" (a criminal organization that should be investigated for aiding and abetting terrorism in my humble opinion):
"Governor Abbott, as Texans, we prefer the Framers’ plan. Don’t mess with the Constitution”
Funny that they are so concerned with the Constitution. Seems to me they do their best to pee on it every single day.

Google the 92 page pdf of Abbott's plan.
I don't know how to get a link on this iPad, but it is there, and makes interesting reading.

Gov. Abbott is scheduled to appear on the Mark Levin show next week to discuss his support on the convention of states.

How many states are needed to accept the invitation? 35?

Article V
The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate.
2/3 = 33.

For a 'legal' group, the ACLU doesn't seem to know constitutional law. A constitutional convention was one of the two ways a an amendment to the Constitution can be enacted per Article V. Thus, it came from the Framers.

According to Mark Levin four states have formally called for an Article 5 convention. The support for a convention is gaining traction as patriots grow tired of the national government shredding the constitution. An Article 5 convention is the ultimate non-violent way to bring leviathan back to respecting state's powers and people's rights. Ronald Reagan, Dwight Eisenhower and many others cited Article 5 as a means of taking control back from Washington.

Oh that's rich. Truly funny. Even the most blind must surely see the long train of abuses and usurpations, and Abbott is just wanting to execute the framer's plan. Even if to the ACLU's view they were "good" abuses and usurpations, they must surely, secretly, in the outshack mirror, see them as abuses and usurpations.
He's not issuing edicts on high, he's seeking the Constitutional path to get what he believes in.
Abbott, in my opinion (worth precisely its retail price), is a rare individual. I'd say let's add an amendment to give the Governor of Texas dual roles, encompassing the office of President, but I remember Ann Richards and others.
We need more like Abbott.

Since 2/3 of 50 = 33.3333 I'd think 34 since 2/3 is greater than 33. Splitting hairs but it might make a difference.

Greg Abbott wrote:But today, most Americans have no idea what our Constitution says. According to a recent poll, one-third of Americans cannot name the three branches of government; one-third cannot name any branch; and one-third thinks that the President has the “final say” about the government’s powers.
I lobbied and voted for this man. I am proud he is the Governor of this great State of Texas.

If the ACLU favors what the Framers intended, wold they favor a repeal of the 17th amendment (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seventeen ... nstitution) where senators were once approved by the states legislatures and not elected by popular vote. The roll of senators was to act as lobbyists for their respective states. The states' check on Federal government overreach. If a senator wasn't working in the best interest of his/her state the state's legislature could recall that senator. Now, because of the need to raise so much money to get elected by popular vote senators are more beholden to special interest lobbies.
