So, If I had out-of-town visitors who want to tour the historic courthouse, admire the ornate hallways and the displayed art, I am barred from carrying there even though I never enter any of the offices or courtrooms? I thought the law was pretty specific about limiting the restriction to the actual rooms specified.

To the OP...it is not my intent to hijack this thread. I have a similar situation.

Here is a quote taken from One News Page..." wichita county sheriff david duke says the county board of judges decided yesterday to continue to ban guns anywhere in the courthouse... as the open carry law begins with the new year. sheriff duke says guns will also be banned in the wichita county annex, all justice of the peace offices in the county, and all common areas and hallways in the courthouse that are sometimes used by the courts." Apparently, they've chosen to disregard the opinion of the Texas AG.
The Wichita County Tax Office (where annual vehicle registration fees are paid) has for years been 30.06 posted. No change there, either. 30.07 posted there now, too.
