Mods,

This is NOT a posting FOR or AGAINST Houston's Prop 1 in the upcoming election. Yes, I do have my strong opinions (AGAINST), but that's not what this is about. But some background info is required for those not living in Houston:

(Begin Background Info)

Houston's Proposition 1 is on the ballot this November. There is a plethora of information about it online, so I'll let you do your own research. (both links below are from a "Pro" Prop 1 site - I wanted to make sure that although I don't agree with it, I'm not guilty of misrepresenting it in their own words)
The Gender Identity in that last part is one of the key sticking points for the 'Con' crowd. What it effective means is that men who identify as women are free to use the women's restrooms, locker rooms, etc. The 'Con' crowd has nicknamed it the 'bathroom ordinance', and focuses on men being free to walk into the bathroom with your wife, daughter, etc. The 'Pro' crowd says it's so much more than this, but this one point is too much for the 'Con' crowd to accept it.

(End Background Info)

So...my wife showed me this posting from one of her facebook friends:
Interesting fact: In 1990, the Arizona governor refused to recognize Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a holiday, so the NFL moved the Super Bowl, which was going to be played in Phoenix, to Los Angeles instead.
If Houston wants to save the 2017 Super Bowl, and save the tens of millions of dollars of economic impact on Houston businesses that go along with it, then Houston needs to vote YES on City of Houston Proposition 1.
Save the Super Bowl - Vote Yes on Houston Prop 1!
OK, so I don't buy into the suggestion...but the interesting thing was in the comments:
I simply cannot process why people wouldn't vote yes. If a predator wants to follow a child they will, signage won't change that.
Silly liberals: use the same argument for 'Gun Free Zones', and they cannot see the logic.

:iagree:, but I think that applies to both sides of the Prop 1 debate.

I'm not going to advocate one way or the other. However, if we advocate for good guys carrying guns everywhere because criminals don't pay attention to signs, then what's the logic in disallowing good guys from using a particular restroom because criminals don't pay attention to signs?

Again, I'm not advocating for either side and I'm not going to debate the merits of either side. I'm just saying that the whole argument is blown way out of proportion over one single part of the proposal.
:tiphat:

Don't be fooled by the word "HERO" in the propositions name. They are very deceitful in how they are going about this.

Since the law passed I am aware of one business that has removed the Men and Women signs and replaced them with signs that just identify that toilets are inside the room.

It's a new world.
