It looks like Democrats are wasting no time trying to once again capitalize on tragedy. They have assembled a bill in the US Senate to remove the requirement that a gun can be sold after three days wait if the background check has not come back yet.
"Waiting for a background check, even if longer than 72 hours, is a minor inconvenience far outweighed by the benefit of keeping lethal weapons out of the hands of dangerous people,"

Thus opens the door for people and groups to be targeted for their religious, ideological, and political alignment to be delayed indefinitely, with no need to reason why, and no timeline to conduct their investigation.
Of course they want that, disarm the populace, then control them.

So just how long do they think that a person should have to wait on the feds to do their thing and add their blessings? If not three days, then five? Ten? Thirty? Ninety? How about a year?
"That's it! Let's make them wait forever, then we'll have our gun ban, through the backdoor!"

Just look how long it takes to get an NFA tax stamp.. 3 months to a year. If they get their way, i'm sure it will be similar.

I wonder what the reaction would be to requiring a background check with no deadline for getting food stamps?
For full disclosure, I've never received food stamps. During the early years of a business I started that eventually did OK, our accountant mentioned I probably qualified.

"The background check system is broken," Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said.
So, instead of fixing it, left wing extremists want to increase the amount of regulation. They likely intend to have Lois Lerner administer it

The real question is: Does that even actually happen?
Otherwise it could just be do-something pandering.
If laws had to make sense and be practical based on actual results and data, both sides would be in big trouble. Our politicians would have a lot more free time.
