Way down it says Jews were prohibited from owning guns. Really, so it wasn't a lie by your own admission.
So how did that work out for them?

Just about anything I've seen posted on Salon.com is either wholly inaccurate or just plain wrong/false. So I'm not surprised.

For those who don't want to read the article, I'll distill the argument for you. The Weimar Republic confiscated guns. When Hitler took over, he relaxed gun regulations, except for the groups he intended to terrorize, like the Jews, therefore gun control did not precede tyranny like the conservatives claim. Gun control was actually relaxed before the tyranny.
Of course the liberals are lapping it up.

At first, my brain read the title as "Hillary gun control lie" - although that's not too far off from the original.

If anyone is interested in learning the entire history of gun control in Germany, I suggest Stephen Halbrook's book
Gun Control in the Third Reich: Disarming the Jews and "Enemies of the State. It's not an exciting book that you will be unable to put down, but it is the definitive study on what really happened in German after the
Treaty of Versailles that guaranteed there would be a World War II.

Yes, it is very interesting. If you are looking for one that is exciting, try The Bravest Battle. I don't remember, off the top off my head, the author but it's about the Warsaw ghetto uprising. Brave men.
