It's not about enforcement, it's about another road block. 10 day waiting period for each gun, each gun must past Commiefornias safety standards. Every 5 years you must take a written handgun safety test. Along with the overall culture of only the government needs guns.

They want less gun owners every year.

And why are we surprised at this? Let the City Council know what you think and that your council person has just lost your vote. Start posting their names around the internet where they will see them making sure as many people as possible know what they're doing. Make sure you vote. About all you can do. I personally think this would be unconstitutional, but that's never stopped them before.

According the the LAT article, only retired cops (and I presume, active cops), should be able to defend themselves and their family in their homes. They amended the law because it would prohibit "retired police officers" from having ready access to a weapon. So there you dirty proles. In any case, the law is absolutely meaningless, since there is virtually no way of prosecuting anyone unless the police enter the home and just find a gun laying around out in the open without the owner present.

Making "improper" gun storage a crime is simply another attempt to demonize guns to further certain political agendas. Enforcement, when it occurs, will no doubt be publicized widely using words like irresponsible, unsafe, arsenal, assault, banned and the like, all to further the agenda of the anti-gun crowd.

Let me get this straight........ you're saying that if one of the few pro-2nd Amendment voters in Los Angeles notifies a far-left member of the LA City Council, you think that councilman will care for even 30 seconds?

BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!

I moved here from Los Angeles County in 2006, where I had lived most of my 62 years. Trust me..... the 4th level flunky who takes your message, or opens your envelope, is going to take one look at it and round file it. The LA city council would be VERY happy if all gun owners would just up and leave. There can't be more than a hundred or so....
