A few minutes ago I accidentally had CNN tuned in on my pickup's Sirius rig...
No, I might as well admit it. I
negligently tuned in CNN. Sirius receivers don't spread CNN nonsense. People do. It takes a trigger finger on the channel selector. I'm guilty.
Anyway, the anchor assumed her deepest voice and asked the listeners if tomorrow's headlines read that 32,000 American servicemen were losing their lives every year on foreign soil, would America insist on a stop to the carnage?
Except, she continued, it's not happening abroad, it's (gasp!) happening here. Thirty-two thousand American lives snuffed out every year due to American gun violence.
Doing my dead-level best to follow her puerile logic, I assume she's saying that the targets of hostile action should be limited in their access to weapons, high capacity magazines, and anything that remotely resembles, serves, or facilitates the use of something like what I had discretely IWB while enjoying CNN's peculiar reasoning. I believe, because I know CNN anchors have bottomless philosophical integrity, a reasonable extension of her rationale would reveal our troops shouldn't have assault rifles (real ones, at that), nasty-looking guns of any type, high capacity magazines, too many rounds of ammunition, armor piercing ammo, etc.
That's the CNN reasoning, right? No? What, victims shouldn't be disarmed in order to face predators with civility?
Oh, wait, I get it. Soccer mom, meet serial murderer. Serial murderer, meet jacketed hollowpoint at 800 fps.
Yep, that works much better.
