Well cnn just interviewed some undercover agent guy who blamed part of it on conceal carry. Said that bike leaders have been encouraging their members who are not felons to get a CHL because no law stops them from getting it.

I know what you mean. It was hard to tell when the only news you got was slanted. Way back when there was only 3-4 stations it was the same way. We only got one view from 3-4 different guys and didn't know an better because that's all we had and hoped/figured they were telling it straight.

Zackly!
Sec. 46.02. UNLAWFUL CARRYING WEAPONS.
  • (a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun, illegal knife, or club if the person is not:
    • (1) on the person's own premises or premises under the person's control; or
      (2) inside of or directly en route to a motor vehicle or watercraft that is owned by the person or under the person's control.
    (a-1) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun in a motor vehicle or watercraft that is owned by the person or under the person's control at any time in which:
    • (1) the handgun is in plain view; or
      (2) the person is:
      • (A) engaged in criminal activity, other than a Class C misdemeanor that is a violation of a law or ordinance regulating traffic or boating;
        (B) prohibited by law from possessing a firearm; or
        (C) a member of a criminal street gang, as defined by Section 71.01.
{——SNIP——}

Sec. 71.01. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter,
  • (a) "Combination" means three or more persons who collaborate in carrying on criminal activities, although:
    • (1) participants may not know each other's identity;
      (2) membership in the combination may change from time to time; and
      (3) participants may stand in a wholesaler-retailer or other arm's-length relationship in illicit distribution operations.
    (b) "Conspires to commit" means that a person agrees with one or more persons that they or one or more of them engage in conduct that would constitute the offense and that person and one or more of them perform an overt act in pursuance of the agreement. An agreement constituting conspiring to commit may be inferred from the acts of the parties.
    (c) "Profits" means property constituting or derived from any proceeds obtained, directly or indirectly, from an offense listed in Section 71.02.
    (d) "Criminal street gang" means three or more persons having a common identifying sign or symbol or an identifiable leadership who continuously or regularly associate in the commission of criminal activities.
So by definition, if a biker gang has been determined to be a criminal enterprise, then any of its members who have a firearm on their persons are violating the law, right?
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

If they pay any attention it will probably be to state that a conspiracy of gun nuts and biker sympathizers are attacking their personal views, etc.
