The above link is to an article published in the 4/5/2015 Dallas Morning News.
It was written by David A. Fahrenthold of the Washington Post.

The above link is the text of the article, but doesn't contain the table which
the DMN posted.

The following is a list of the 15 top Republican hopefuls for the 2016 Presidential
campaign. It is listed alphabetically by last name, and contains details from the
table the DMN printed.

Jeb Bush - Does not own guns, is "more of a fisherman". Seems 2A friendly though.

Ben Carson - Owns 2 Mossberg 500, 12 gauge shotguns. Won several awards as a
member of an ROTC rifle team.

Chris Christie - Does not own guns. Governor of anti state New Jersey.

Ted Cruz - Owns a Taurus .357 revolver and a Beretta Silver Pigeon II shotgun.
He did target shooting as a kid, took up hunting as an adult.

Carly Fiorina - Owns a Glock 17 9MM, .38 Smith and Wesson, a 12 gauge pump
shotgun, and two .22 rifles. Speaking of her Glock she commented "I know where it is,
I know how to unlock it, I know how to load it, I know how to shoot it."

Lindsey Graham - Owns 12 guns, including an AR-15 and a Browning Sweet 16 shotgun.
His Ar-15 has his military unit name on it referencing his time in Afghanistan. He says
that he would use the Ar-15 should civil unrest come to his South Carolina home.

Mike Huckabee - Owns at least 1 gun, but would not comment on his total number of guns.
He got his first gun at age 5, a Daisy 25 .22, and still has it.

Bobby Jindal - Owns a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver, with laser, which he bought after
Katrina, and keeps it in his home for self defense. His home is the heavily guarded
Louisiana Governor's Mansion.

Rand Paul - Owns multiple firearms. During a CNN interview he said "if they fly <drones> over
my house, they better beware because I've got a shotgun."

Mike Pence (Indiana?) - Declined to comment on his gun ownership. He also declined to
comment on his 2A stance.

Marco Rubio - Owns a Taurus .357 revolver, which he bought in 2010 for protection.
He holds the Florida version of a CHL.

Rick Santorum - Owns an undisclosed number of pistols, rifles, and shotguns.
He supports nationwide CHL reciprocity.

Donal Trump - Owns a Smith and Wesson .38 and an H & K .45. "I'm licensed. I'm licensed
in NYC", Trump said, boasting that it's "not an easy feat."

Rick Perry - Owns at least 2 firearms (would not disclose how many). Some years back when
he killed the coyote in Austin that was a potential threat to his dog he was using a Ruger LCP.
The author of this article made the snarky comment "Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is so
well-armed, he has a gun for jogging."

Scott Walker - Owns a shotgun and a rifle. He didn't grow up hunting, but got his first firearm
in his mid-30's, due to winning a shotgun in a raffle.

I've found that when it politician is a gun owner, it bears little or no relevance to their gun politics. For example, Rep. Gabby Gifford and her husband Mark Kelly are (or were) gun owners........of the "guns for me, but not thee" type. Sen. Dianne Feinstein was a gun owner.

I'm no fan of GOA, but one of their representatives had it right when he said:
“I don’t care. I, personally, don’t care,” ................. “What I care about is where they stand on the Second Amendment, not how many guns they have.”

Also, one or two guns, does not a real gun owner (in the sense caring about gun rights) make. My youngest son technically owns a couple guns I bought for him when he was a kid. He doesn't own any guns otherwise and has none in his possession, has no current interest in acquiring a gun, and yet he would be a more passionate advocate of gun rights than a lot of these politicians claiming to own one or two guns. He simply considers the anti-gun position stupid and unrealistic like a lot of other liberal blather.

I've got a coworker who owns several guns, all inherited, none of which he knows anything about or shoots. He jammed up a nice 22 Mag level action loading it with 22 LR. He doesn't even have ammo for most of them. He's certainly not anti-gun, but in his indifference he doesn't understand enough about the issues or guns to be "pro-gun" either. That's fine, he's not in the opposing camp, he's just another Joe Six Pack. However, in these guys and gals aspiring to rule over us that kind of indifference is not at all reassuring.

It is political. Just like obama did not make his stance in homosexuals public until it was politically convenient.

None of them can come out and say that they own a dozen ARs and assemble them themselves from parts kits available on the internet. They cannot say that they own 30 round high capacity mags... they will be labeled as a radical because most people shy away from that.

My own father was raised with guns in the country, but was a fudd. S&W 38 snub nose, Ruger single six .22, Remington 700 30-06, and an 870 wingmaster is all that he ever owned. I will never forget how mad he was when I wanted a semi-auto shotgun for my 18th birthday. He about blew a gasket when I got an AR. He was not too happy about me getting a glock to carry with. But on election day 2008, he called me that morning and wanted an AR and a Glock 17 and a CHL.

There are lots of people out there like my dad. They are fine with hunting guns, but not evil assault weapons and "hi cap" magazines. Those people will not vote for a "gun nut". So they have to lay low.

Along the lines of "what politicians carry", but not Prez hopefuls:

Kay Bailey Hutchinson, former US Senator, favored a .357 Magnum.

During the last Texas governor's race, 3 male candidates were profiled by the Dallas Morning
News. I think it was Greg Abbott, but I'm not sure about it, who carries a .380 pistol,
brand/model unknown, in the small of back. His BUG is a mini .22 revolver (NAA maybe?)
in his boot.

Does anyone know what other high profile people carry?

I would be interested in seeing what the liberal democrats have. I wonder what Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have. They would more than likely lie about it. lol

Joe Biden has a double barrel shotgun. If someone knocks on his door late at night, he cuts loose with both barrels. That's all you need for hoMe defense. Not a deadly AR-15 assault weapon with large capacity ammunition.

One wonders how the hysterical nut-cases who are screaming for a gun ban can be so clueless about how many firearms are woven into the fabric of American households, not just the billions of guns everywhere, but also the many thousands of businesses and their employees that support their sale & use.

If it were magically possible to push a button and have all firearms disappear today, our economy would be in total collapse tomorrow!

Biden has hoes? Does his wife know? Is he defending them from her?

Politicians is hoes. That's why they have guns. They're afraid that one of these days we'll wise up to way they're manipulating our fears and come after them.

Call me when this happens, I wanna come.
