Proposed US Federal ban of greater than 10 round mags

Five years for you peasants with an 11 round mag or two 10 round mags taped or coupled together. Take that you miserable oxygen wasting and useless breeder and eater peons.
United States Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) has never seen a proposed new infringement on that which shall not be infringed that he hasn't liked, so it should come as no surprise that he is enthusiastically on board with a pair of bills recently introduced in Congress that would impose a five-year prison term for acquiring an 11-round magazine. S.407/H.R. 752, the "Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Act of 2015," introduced by Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and Representative Elizabeth Etsy (D-CT) respectively, would even ban the practice of attaching two of the "acceptable" capacity magazines together:

Chris Murphy obviously cant count. I'd say the nut was short about 505 rounds.
"Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Thursday touted the bill, which would ban magazines of more than 10 rounds, hours after reports circulated that police had foiled a mass shooting plot aimed at Congress. "Think of the damage that someone could do in the U.S. Capitol with 30 rounds,” he said at a briefing.

i imagine many folks would perish with 30, at least more than one with just 15 rounds?????

They're trying to keep their elitist, big-government "street cred" up. Also, it allows them to pontificate on the subject and make outrageous claims and thus seem like they are "doing something". They know its going nowhere.

I see it as an expression of how relentless and determined they are to take away our rights and freedom and assert their control rather than a practical political act.

It's nothing but silliness. There are so many "high capacity" magazines already in circulation. It's not like they are going away anything soon. I think I have enough Glock and 5.56 mags to last the rest of my days.

Even if this crazy 10 round restriction ever passed,
the politicians don't seem to understand how fast
a determined killer could switch out a large number
of 10 round mags and keep firing. Sheesh. :-(

In the US Capital I am not sure I would refer to it as "damage".
I guess I shouldn't say that.

The funny part of this is that having a spare mag in a belt pouch is legal, but duct taping two mags together is not. I wonder if he thinks that accomplishes something.

This is assuming the millions of existing 11+ round magazines suddenly cease to exist.
The reality is, tens of millions of people will still have these "high capacity" magazines, most of which will either be stockpiled and buried or sold and stolen, making it to the black market. The only ones without these magazines would be law-abiding citizens.
Magazines are simple devices as well. They could easily be made using a metal shop or a 3D printer.

Ha! I agree. I was kinda nervous about the 505 round comment but I didn't shout fire in a theater or support any violence towards 535 politicians. I also labeled him a nut. The helicopters haven't landed in my pasture so I'm guessing the Feds didn't have any issues. He is a nut Feds. I know you're reading this...
