Fort Hood victims to receive Purple Heart

Post by fickman »

An update to a long conversation we've had here:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/02 ... latestnews

What did it take? An act of Congress.

Kudos to those who kept fighting. Shame on those who stood in their way.

Purple Heart awards are an admission that their wounds weren't because of workplace violence, but terrorism.

To be specific, Islamic terrorism, despite what "high horse" the monster referred to as our President has to say...

Up is down, Down is up. Good is bad, bad is good. Our world has been turned upside down for so long, it is remarkable to see some things returning to some semblance or rationality.

Thank you all out there for voting this November.

I am however surprised to see this happen so easily. No filibuster, no presidential veto.

I can't imagine how difficult it's been to be a federal employee. It may take a generation to restore their faith in their bosses.

For today some good news for a few very deserving soldiers.

It is a start.

It's about damn time! This has been bothering me a long time.

Finally! Those men and women deserved the day after the massacre. The audacity of that man in the White House, when he said 'workplace violence' , made me want to throw up.

:iagree: long overdue. The whole process from trial to execution should have taken no more than 30 days.

It didn't take years of sitting on death row to get rid of Timothy McVeigh. He was fast tracked to six feet under.

So, why is nidal hasan still sucking up groceries and air?

McVeigh was a federal convict. Hassan is a military convict. The Feds hated McVeigh and needed to show how tough they were on domestic terrorists. Hassan is protected by the current administration.

As much as I would love to say this is true, it simply is not.
High crimes that result in capital punishment in the military are a farce
Take a look at the last time a military prisoner with a death sentence was executed. Take a look at how many are on death row, how long they have been there and where they are in the appeals process. Sad fact is, my Army has a dysfunctional and dismally slow process in dealing with convicted prisoners on death row. Most will die of old age, disease or other non governmental induced death. This administration does not need to protect him, the UCMJ is doing that.

I can pretend to be a progressive and keep repeating it over and over again and soon most people will believe it. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

:iagree:

Everyone thinks that we just tie them to a post and call out the firing squad after a conviction but military inmates sit on death row longer than most, if not all, civilian death row inmates.
