The author probably would be fired if the article was about open carry in general rather than why black people should openly carry.
Aside from reading that I haven't read a HuffPo article in over a year. Hate their "news" and hate their website.

Another winner from Huffpo. I about choked on my coffee.
"Feeling oppressed? Racially profiled? Bullied by Law Enforcement? Open carry and you'll be left alone!"

I could not force myself to read that piece of garbage. I started twice but just couldn’t stomach it.
The only reason I went to the web site of those morally and intellectually bankrupt people is because of the link and the title of the post “Huffington Post now sees the light and supports OC”.
That is one web site I would like to see fold up and go away. The internet and the country would be better for it.

with V.o.R. The internet "newspapers" like this one have many authors who do not necessarily disseminate news articles but only impart their opinions,
disguised as legitimate news stories. People who don't read these articles with a HUGE grain of salt, will most likely be deceived. This is how baseless rumors get started IMO.

The other side of the "internet" business is that if you can generate traffic, it really doesn't matter what kind of traffic, you're making money... So the more controversial, the more divisive, the better...
You've got to filter the fringes...
