A real President, a Real American, God how I miss him!

For those too young to have known the greatest President the U.S. has ever had, here is a glimpse of the man God blessed us with for eight years. Eight years that restored America not only in the eyes of the world, but in the hearts of Americans.

He knew how to deal with tyrants, terrorists and those who would destroy us from within. We Americans must ask ourselves how could we have gone from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama in less than one generation. While the enemy is different, the answer is the same -- Reagan's answer. Wake up Americans . . . while there's still is an America to restore.

Chas.

EDITED: Since the original version of the video was changed to substitute a bunch of Hollywood clips, I've linked a different version. It's the same Reagan speech, with more appropriate video footage.

I'm very proud to say I used my very first vote on this great man. :patriot:

He made sense to me then and even more now.

My very first vote went for Barry Goldwater. I, much later, also voted for "the Great Communicator", who is sorely missed indeed.

My first presidential election was 1980 and Reagan was the first I voted for for president. He may have been the last I voted for. I'm not certain after his terms that I didn't vote against the greater of two evils from then until now. I'd sure like to have someone to vote for again.

Agreed!
I'd really like, for a change, to have someone/something :patriot: to vote FOR rather than someone/something to vote AGAINST.

Some humor, some common sense, and an excellent comparison at the end.

I plead for mercy and compassion on all of us poor millennials that struggle and struggle to be conservative in spite of having never seen a real conservative in action. The first election I can even remember was the election of George Bush #1. Then I entered my adolescence and slick Willy was in office. The first president I got to vote for was GWB. It was a bit of a sham. He was a much better man than the person before or after him, but still not exactly conservative. His no child left behind program was a bad bit, then the patriot act is a poison pill.

We younglings have to live vicariously through your experiences. We have never actually seen a conservative in office.

Don't feel bad mamabearCali. I voted for "Tricky Dick" then got so discouraged I actually voted for the second worst POTUS we've ever had: The Peanut Man from Georgia, who now advocates we throw away the Constitution and adopt Sharia law.

Now of course, I have seen the errors of the past and corrected my course.

I voted for almost the worst (Carter)

The best (Reagan) :hurry: :patriot:

And the one owed the biggest apology (Nixon) :mad5

Compared to the current occupant, Nixon in no way deserved what he got. In my opinion anyway.

I recall his panache when on the operating table after being shot asking the attending: "Please tell me you're all Republicans"

Who, but Ronald Reagan would be so cool under fire, if you will.

And, who but Ronald Reagan would make the Russians back down, while all others were wringing their hands and kvetching.
