One gun per month? Howabout one background check per month

This article at BusinessInsider.com has a small article and a map on the number of background checks (NICS) per capita per state. (I'm not sure why, but I seem to recall BI is not a big friend of 2A, but I might be wrong on that. Dunno if that has any impact on this article or not.)
It is interesting enough as it is, but I was really surprised to see Kentucky has 40.2 background checks per 100 population - the next closest state is North Carolina, at 9.8 per 100. Texas is in the range 2 to 4 per 100.

Man, talk about bureaucratic churn.You might be inclined to think that Kentucky has an irregularly large number of gun enthusiasts, but there's actually a simple explanation. Kentucky's numbers are distorted because gun owners with state-issued concealed weapons permits have monthly background checks.
