Ballistic "blanket" for students

This concept is disturbing to me in both its naïveté and its passivity. So now the know-betters want our children to just lay there under a "blanket" while a madman tries to kill them?

A blanket designed to shield students from debris flying through the air from tornadoes is selling as gunfire protection, due to anxiety over national school shootings.

Maybe they can order them in school colors.

The people who conceive of this as a good idea have an unbelievably disjointed connection with reality. They would do anything rather than admit a few competent adults with guns onto the school property to put paid to a mass murderer.
They are infantile, and right outside their minds. I consider all such people to be delusional and incompetent to run anything.

Me I'm not a one size fits all kind of guy. There can be multiple things people can do and have the option for without ruling any one particular thing bad. Personally I'm not a big fan of this option but if I had a kid in school I would think about putting a bullet proof panel in their backpack.

Wayne LaPierre said, "The only thing that's going to stop a bad man with a gun is a good man with a gun." Evan Marshall said, "There's evil and monsters all around us they have to be met with overwhelming deadly force."
We must put
well trained armed personnel in the schools more than one or two and not some teacher that has a CHL and an extra 5-10 hours of training. These people have to be able to respond at a moments notice with superior firepower and superior tactics.
I am strongly inclined to agree with both of those gentlemen. I carry, what to some, is way too many pistols and way too many extra rounds. Not because I think I'll be facing a large mob, but because I may face one of these monsters and I don't want to say, "Oh crud, I wish I had my Glock 17 instead of this 5 shot J frame."
