Interesting. Number of Illinoisans signing up for CHL
Interesting. Number of Illinoisans signing up for concealed carry permits far outpaces number enrolling in Obamacare.

Re: Interesting. Number of Illinoisans signing up for CHL
It will be interesting to see how many of the concealed carry applicants survive the process and are actually issued licenses. Is anyone up for a lottery on the attrition percentage? That said, the Obamacare attrition might be just as high. A lot of the early applicants were being sent to Medicaid and on a link the State exchanges that didn't work.
I'm in for 50% success on the concealed licenses. Even that might be optimistic.

I'm so glad I do not live in Illinois any longer. I really loved the outdoors there, but the politics...whooo!
Getting a FOID card took forever, so I'm sure getting a CHL there will take the full 90 days at least. I haven't looked into their new laws, but I'm sure they'll find a way to screw it up. Basically, you have a beautiful state governed by one city - and it ain't Springfield.

In Chicago, that's probably a better return on investment.bmwrdr wrote:Interesting. Number of Illinoisans signing up for concealed carry permits far outpaces number enrolling in Obamacare.

You can't really carry anywhere in Chicago under their "No Carry Zones" provision. Pretty flippin stupid IMO.
Useless piece of paper. I'd just stick to an FOID card and leave it in the house.

I have a better plan, avoid Chicago completely.HoosierTexan wrote:You can't really carry anywhere in Chicago under their "No Carry Zones" provision. Pretty flippin stupid IMO.

The idea is great and also applies to several other cities. I remember staying in a motel in St. Louis, IL a few years ago on a business trip. Next time I'll drive a few miles across the bridge.jmra wrote:I have a better plan, avoid Chicago completely.HoosierTexan wrote:You can't really carry anywhere in Chicago under their "No Carry Zones" provision. Outside the metro areas, most folks are conservative.
The liberal press would have you believe the entire state of New York or Illinois or take your pick of a blue state are all liberal - pssssstttt, not so!
Though to be sure I wonder why they (the small minority) get to sway the vote?
My conclusion: Fraud!

I wonder if there will be government assistance to get a CHL since there are more on welfare and unemployment that there are working!

I've lived in Illinois in two separate phases of my life - about 10 years apart - a long time ago. Illinois, like some other states, is divided. There is Chicago and there is Illinois. Chicago happens to be a blight on an otherwise okay yankee state....IMO. I wish the CC candidates well.

East St. Louis, IL used to be the very bottom of the pits. Has it changed?bmwrdr wrote:The idea is great and also applies to several other cities. The same could perhaps be said about the entire west coast, could it not? The liberal population centers of Kalifornia, Oregon and Washington control the politics of what are otherwise scenic places. Moving inland, Nevada is not Las Vegas and Reno. Las Vegas and Reno happen to be in Nevada. The list goes on.....Abraham wrote:Outside the metro areas, most folks are conservative.

I heard the Illinois side of St. Louis was a war zone.bmwrdr wrote:The idea is great and also applies to several other cities. Same in Texas. Obama carried Dallas, Bexar, Travis, and Harris counties the first time through...carried them all the 2nd time through but missed Harris by about 10 votes IIRC. The only rural areas that democrats control are the border counties...Producers vs Recipients. It is the same story everywhere you go (except maybe in OKC).
