"Two-woman ticket"

Here you will find an article about the Democrat Party of Texas running a two-woman ticket of Wendy Davis and Leticia Van de Putte for Governor and Lt. Governor. While not every Republican has been as staunch on firearms-related items as some would like them to be, neither have any of them gone out of their way to block 2A rights in Texas, or hamper self-defense in any significant way. I cannot say the same for members of the state Democrat Party, which is in-line with their national party. You can get a preview of what they are saying about this duo in the article I have linked above. My greatest fear is that so many folks in this state do NOT understand the importance of the Lt. Governor office. The Texas Democrat Party more than understands the importance, though. This ticket may seem gimmicky, but given mass media support for the Democrat Party, I suggest we take this seriously.

I have say at lunch and visited with Leticia a couple times at Rotary meetings. We definitely do not want her as lt. gov or any other statewide office. She is as nanny state as they come. The unions love her.

I'm not voting for them. While I admire the idea of 2 women running, it would never persuade me to vote for them, ever.

It sends chills up my spine knowing that the current administration took an active interest in Wendy. I do not want this admin's cronies in Texas planting seeds. Keep Texas for Texans! :txflag:

I would never vote for anyone (nor would I admire anyone) based on gender. To do so is the very definition of sexism.

Don't under estimate them. Remember what they are doing and did to VA. Don't let them do it to TX. McAwful was a joke this time last year.... Now he is governor. Man your posts! The enemy wants you.... Don't let them Mcawful Texas.

Wendy Davis should be taken very seriously as a contender. She is pure poison for gun rights and has less than zero interest in doing anything but putting forth the far left's agenda. Texas is in the crosshairs to turn blue and you can bet there will be plenty of outside money flowing in the coming election to make that happen. The media will shower Davis with every form of praise. I wish I had a dime for every time that scene from her filibuster has been on the tv screen while some talking head is praising her for demanding the right to abort 6 month and up pregnancies. She turns my stomach.

And it might work for sexism but neither will be my doing.

I won't vote for her, but aside from her being pro-abortion, I haven't seen any arguments for not voting for her. "She's bad for Texas" or "she is too liberal" is really not convincing. We all know about her filibuster and egging on an out of control gallery, but what specific actions has she taken to be anti-gun?
I know, I can do some research, but help a brother out!

Thanks, that's a good start, so it looks like she's pro gun except for campus carry...? I don't see a big threat there. It's just her other ideologies that concern me.

While serving on the Ft Worth City Council she tried very hard to get all gun shows banned at city owned facilities, specifically Will Rogers Auditorium. She is rabidly anti gun and any gun owner who votes for her is seriously uninformed.

The way I see it, it's pretty simple:
I don't always vote republican, but I never vote democrat. Their very platform violates almost everything I believe in.
