Let me get this straight:
Instead of feeling safe that there was a police officer at the school, some parents are so ideologically warped, that they don't even want cops to be visible in a school?
Just when I think I have heard and seen it all, when it comes to gun laws and
rules.

Well, if they don't want us carrying then nobody should be, cops included.

Wow!! What's next, no Karate black belts or military in uniform too?! Oh, but they're dangerous!
Since when is an officer in uniform a bad guy with a gun?!
Sounds like these parents need to teach their own kids, not rely on the school. I've taught mine since they were little bitty to go to an officer or person who works at a store when lost. I practice with them when we were out, by having them show me who were the store workers and how can they tell. And if they are lost and can't see an officer or store worker, for them to go to a mommy with children, and ask for help. Never ever shout for me. That just signals the predators. Thankfully this has worked with success twice. I've also helped other children who were running around panicking. My mommy radar kicks in when I hear a kid shouting for their parents. I told them my name and that I'm a mommy and would introduce my kids. I'd say we need to find a store worker and when we found one, I'd show them the name tag. On the way, I'd tell them never ever leave the store. Granted these kids were military kids and it was on base. But still, if I helped them, I was relieved. How sad these kids were too scared to see a cop with an gun, it might have tragic results, if they don't understand they will help!

parents were concerned when their kids came home telling them there was a man at school with a gun,
School district please identify those parents so a state wide bulletin can be issued to all law enforcement agencies to avoid all contact with those persons and there privet property.

One generation of pansies... Coming up.
Not only these parents are teaching their kids to be afraid of guns (WRONGLY), they are teaching them to be afraid of arguably good guys with guns.
What are these kids going to be like, when they grow up? How will they defend this country, if they are going to run away screaming at the sight of a gun?
Nowadays, these kids will run away even from toy guns, according to policies in many schools (or even an index finger imitating a gun barrel, for that matter)...

Police officers I've talked to tell me they hear parents threatening their young children with police all the time. "If you don't behave yourself, that police officer over there is going to come and take you away to jail!" Great parenting right there.

People are running away from California and Arizona is a a place many of them land so this is not surprising that a few parents were able to get the liberals who typically run school systems to react this way. This to me is more anti law enforcement than about firearms, it is amazing how places that exist to educate are filled with ignorance and education has turned into an ideological place to force feed our children liberal beliefs............

.... Yeaaaahhh... 'cause I'm gonna take a kid to jail for throwing a tempter tantrum over a candy bar at the 7-11.
Some parents just need to man up (or woman up) and assert responsibility over their own kids.

Let's see, Phoenix is in Arizona and Arizona is a Gold Star OC state. So, what's wrong with this picture?
A favorite bumper sticker often seen in Polson this past summer, "Don't California Montana".

Geez - what can one say... I think my comment would violate the forum rules so I won't say it
but thinking about it..if the uniform was bugging the parents, then go in plain clothing and open carry with the badge next to the gun

I think these parents have their heads buried somewhere, and it's not in the sand.

Sheeples living in la la land where everything is okay and the invisible hand is always present protecting and caring for them. Seeing uniforms/guns are a stark rebuttal to their fantasy life.
