"Sheriff’s investigators learn from the State Police whether someone with a revoked FOID card was ever approved to buy a gun after going through a background check at a gun store.

If the answer is yes, sheriff’s investigators ask the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for any records of the store selling a firearm to the person."

Are the Illinois State Police supposed to be keeping records of who are going through a BG check to buy guns?

Dunno about the states, but I believe any such database on the federal level is illegal.

It is commonplace in formerly free states to maintain state-level gun registration databases.

Without the continuing defense in the (R) side of the aisle, the anti crowd would have loved to slip that in at the federal level.

Please don't take this the wrong way but you are asking a question about Illinois. Kind of a silly question.

Duly Noted!! I posted this during my lunch break and simply didn't have the time to look up the legality of such a database. But, your point speaks for itself...

The not so Great State of Illinois. This State has turned free Americans into Mindless Subjects of which the King of England would be proud. The Iron Fist of Government hard at work dismantling the most basic Human Right of Self Rule guaranteed by the US Constitution, and those Federal Morons entrusted to wield this document like a saber roll over and do nothing.

The Federal Government is really good at only one thing. Laying and collecting new taxes and enslaving unborn children to debt for all of time. Imagine the prosperity that would exist in this Land if they were chained by some sort of....Constitution.
