Activist Adam Kokesh ordered held without bond in D.C.
Monday - 7/29/2013, 12:56pm ET
WASHINGTON - A D.C. Superior Court judge has ordered a veteran and activist accused of openly carrying a shotgun in D.C.'s Freedom Plaza held without bond.
This was sooooooo predictable.

If anyone, including Kokesh, expected any different reaction from D.C. then they are fools. The problem with civil disobedience is you tend to go to jail.

Maybe it's just me, but if I saw someone on the street in downtown Houston loading a shotgun and jacking a shell in the chamber, I would be alarmed. Walking down the street with a shotgun/rifle is one thing but cycling the action is quite another.

watching the short video you can clearly see that he's mad, he's looking to kick butt and take names and that's something you just can't do with a gun in your hands. It's how most of us feel for sure, but one thing about joining the club is it's best to learn how to be and STAY calm, cool, and collected while also being aware of your surroundings at all times.

What is not being talked about so much (because "guns" is such a polarizing subject for some people) is that he was also arrested and charged with drug possession—namely, psilocybin mushrooms, a hallucinogenic drug.
I don't think this guy was "normal."

true i did see that but forgot to mention that in my post as well. wouldn't that be a felony? and then how did he get the gun? well nvm, i know it's still pretty easy to have someone else buy the gun and then "sell" it to you. I found a guy on FB who i went to school with (not friend) that had a felony for selling his momma's oxycotin. he's an army wannabe strutting around in his apartment with tacticool gear on and spray painted "ar15" (which is probably the air soft version) claiming to be in the texas state militia

I have always classified Kokesh as being right along side Vanderbough (sp?) and being part of the Threeper movement that won't be happy until we are embroiled in a civil war. I suspect that the civil disobedience was done in order to get arrested (Just because I dislike someone I don't think them a fool) and then become the posterboy for civil rights in the threeper community. In his long term fantasy he will be responsible for starting the revolution that restores the constitution and brings libertarians control of both houses of congress as well as the White House along with replacing all of the Supreme Court Justices with hard shell libertarians.
On a side note, I refuse to watch his video because I suspect it will essentially support my statement and I have better things to do.

He looked scared to me.

Back to the title, was this really serious enough to hold him without bond?

Apparently the judge thought so.
This guy is for all intents and purposes an agent of a foreign government, Russia. His podcasts are distributed by RT America(an organ of the Russian Gov't)he's funded by them. He and merry band appear to be camping out in a $700k to $1 million home in DCs Va. suburbs with no visible means of support. Someone of them was in possession of an illegal weapon and hallucinogenic substances.
And, he did break the law in DC on July 4th, as he would have, had he done the same thing in Texas.

Considering the drug use combined with a loaded shotgun, it kinda looks like it is. However, I also think he was probably acting menacing for the camera.
As far as the $700k-$1M home, that would probably only be $150k-$200k here in North Texas.

True, but it's in Virginia not North Texas. So, it's value is 700k to 1 million.

Regardless, there is plenty of governmental shenanigans to be worried about. The Kokesh muckraking is only a symptom of how many feel the same. I'm starting to think it's the government, not some threeper movement that really wants violent unrest.
