I wasn't sure if this would best be a new topic, or a continuation of the IRS / Tea Party targeting discussion in another thread currently underway.....

Apparently, conservative groups were charged fees / denied access about 90% of the time, whereas liberal / environmental groups were given access / free reign about 90% of the time. Of course the EPA head honchos are denying it. Then again, the IRS top dogs vehemently denied anything for the longest time as well....
It's not just the IRS.

A second federal agency is facing a probe and accusations of political bias over its alleged targeting of conservative groups.

The allegations concern the Environmental Protection Agency, which is being accused of trying to charge conservative groups fees while largely exempting liberal groups. The fees applied to Freedom of Information Act requests -- allegedly, the EPA waived them for liberal groups far more often than it did for conservative ones.

This sounds an awful lot like top-down "Chicago style" politics. Whodathunkit?

You mean the EPA did more than just this!

Owner of Gibson Guitars is a conservative. I thought this whole thing smelled to high heaven when it happened.

In case you were not aware Gibson Guitars was raided with armed officers from the EPA because they may have be using endangered woods in their fret boards. Apparently every other guitar manufacturer in the world including many in the US (but are not vocally conservative) use the same wood and were not bothered. Musicians were afraid to leave the country and return with their instruments for fear of them being taken upon their return.

"Gibson CEO Henry Juskiewicz became widely known after he reacted to the raid by protesting his company's innocence of running afoul of arcane restrictions (the case here hinged on the degree the wood was finished in India, not whether it was endangered or illegally harvested) in the pages of national newspapers and in Senate hearings held by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.)."
