Folks, I found this vid from BBC news about the Syrian chemical weapons issue. It's pretty scary stuff. I don't have much to say about it... I guess it is what it is now days and hopefully our shores won't see this kind of stuff. It does at least kind of ground you and make you realize someone out there is probably having a worse day than we are.
seems to me that chem and bio weapons used to be considered "WMD". And I seem to remember that saddam was moving massive convoys into Syria, presumed to be loaded with the same when the heat was really on him. Now, two questions: 1. did Syria get their chem/bio stash from days long past? 2. Are chem/bio weapons still considered "WMD"?
Did saddam possess WMD's? (I think so, in fact)

Me thinks so too... I think Syria may be the WMD Walmart for that particular part of the Middle East... Minus the door greeters.

It is Bush's fault.

Deja Vu all over again. WMDs, coalition building, gaining a consensus, sanctions, military options, small population groups exposed to chem WMDs. Is it 2003 all over again? At least Kerry isn't in a position to vote for it before he votes against it.

Syria has been a supporter of terrorism for years. Now those chickens are coming home to roost
in their own land.
IMHO, the USA should leave this hot potato alone. The fighting there seems to be Sunni/Shiite civil warring.
There's no clearcut "good guys" there that would support the US if they gain power.
All this warfare's sad, but I'm sick and tired of the USA being the policeman to the world when we've got problems
at home at which we could be throwing some resources.
We should only step in militarily if Israel needs a hand.
