Sheila, Sheila, Sheila

While pushing for more gun control legislation on the House floor, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said, “Don’t condemn the gangbangers, they’ve got guns that are trafficked.”
Just when you think she ran out of ignorant things to say, she comes up with another doozie.

I... I don't even know what that's supposed to mean. :headscratch

What? What is that supposed to mean? That was not even coherent.

I propose a law that all lawmakers need to pass a minimum IQ test (threshold TBD) and score a 1000 or better on the SAT just prior to being sworn in. Better yet, make it so that this criteria must be met in order to register as a primary candidate.

On a visit to the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2005, Rep. Lee made embarrassing news by asking if the Mars Pathfinder had taken an image of the flag planted there in 1969 by Neil Armstrong.

I suspect it's a quasi English way of trying to say violence is the gun's fault because it didn't go through the background check system when it entered the gangbangers' hands. The gangbangers themselves, of course, are just innocent victims.

Sigh....how sad that her constituency keeps putting her back in office. It says something about them as well as her.

At least she wasn't concerned about Guam capsizing and sinking. "rlol"

I get it... mental health issue = no guns... BUT nothing apparently makes one ineligible to hold public office. And we wonder what is wrong with this country? I don't!

As much as I wish we could have minimum standards for politicians (and voters), I keep coming back to wondering where I get off telling people who they can or can't vote for, or whether they're informed enough for their opinion to matter. I mean, we keep bashing liberals for being control freaks, but isn't telling someone that Joe-Bob isn't smart enough to represent them the same thing? Much like a free market risks having price gougers, dumb politicians and uninformed voters are just some of the risks you take when you're committed to freedom. (Incidentally, this is also my main argument against term limits.)

Her own words show that gun control won't work. Criminals don't buy guns through legal means. She said it, but is too stupid to see it.

I find it pretty scary (and somewhat impressive) that you were able to interpret what she said! :tiphat:
