Highway patrol gave feds Missouri weapon permits data

With all deference to the fine officers past and present we have on this board and the county sheriffs who are standing up against this... -
generally speaking the urban police departments are not our friends! Apparently they Missouri Highway Patrol gave the feds the entire database of Missouri concealed carry permit holders. This does not bode well!

Here are they money quotes from the article:

“Apparently from what I understand, they wanted to match up anyone who had a mental diagnosis or disability with also having a concealed carry license,” Schaefer said. “What I am told is there is no written request for that information.”

Schaaf immediately suspected what Schaefer learned from Replogle later in the day. “Now we know two things,” he said. “We know that somebody out there, probably in the federal government, wants the list of all the concealed carry holders in Missouri. We know that now.

“We know one other piece of information – we know the department is actively and purposefully concealing that information from us,” Schaaf said.

There are several state representatives, including a friend of mine, that have filed suit against the Department of Revenue for keeping improper data and releasing information they shouldn't have. http://www.ksdk.com/news/local/story.as ... yid=366950" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is why so-called “Constitutional Carry” is the only way to go. No permits, no lists.

Show of hands. How many think this can't happen in Texas? How many think it hasn't already? If they did Missouri, you can bet they've done all the states.

No doubt in my mind that Feds have a copy of the list of Texas CHL holders. It may not be the most up to date, but I bet they know. This is why all firearm purchases I do are face to face, no paperwork at all. These lists always find a way into the hands of abuse, and tin foil or not, I have no doubt they'll be used against us in the near future.

The chances are it has happened, and in every state. If they couldn't get it openly all they had to do was promise someone with access to the data a nice sinecure in the Federal Government, or get some State level democrat to fix something up for them. The Rule-of-Law is long gone in this country. We just had 46 Senators commit open Treason with no consequences.

:iagree:

Unfortunately, nothing government does surprises me anymore. It seems pretty much everywhere I look, ethics has gone out the window if someone can get ahead financially, politically, etc.

I should qualify that by saying that this seems to me to happen not where line personnel are involved, officers, deputies, DMV workers, etc., but at the upper levels where decisions are made. How sad....
