Universal background check fired-up again!

With no deal, the Universal Background check would spare no one and would make you a criminal if you a private sale or a trade you from your collection. The orginal bill is calls for private sale records, same as registration.

Plan-B as dangerous as ever, start calling US Senators and safe no effort or dollars for NRA-ILA.

Based on the article I would be willing to bet that the bill that eventually is voted on will be one that includes an expansion of NICS that digs deeper into the mental health issue. This IMHO would probably pass both the senate and the house. I do not believe NICS on all sales (including private sales) would get 60 votes in the Senate. I don't think it would stand a snowballs chance in the house.
Ultimately the Dems just want to say they passed something, substance is irrelevant at this point.

I think for most politicians these days substance is always irrelevant. Unfortunately it is a game of what they can do to get re-elected.

Don't let up on calling/writing legislators. Never give an inch. If too many people sigh in relief and relax, these weasels will quickly slip something in under the door. :grumble
