50% suicide reduction?

#1

Post by MeMelYup »

According to Bloomberg:
"The 14 states that have taken on the burden of also having background checks for gun shows and for internet sales, they reduced their suicide rate by 50 percent," he said. "So gun background checks really do work."

Where does he get these statistics? Does anyone know what the statistics are and how they break down?

I can't tell you where he pulls these statistics from due to forum rules. :rules:

In Texas with it's relaxed gun laws, the murder suicide weapons this week were:
the woman was stabbed with a knife and her husband then hung himself.

Conclusion:
Ban rope to prevent suicide
Ban knives to prevent murder

Edited to point Blooming in the right direction
@MikeBloomberg #BanRope woman was stabbed with knife & her husband then hung himself http://www.chron.com/default/article/2- ... 364191.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; … Easy access to rope caused this
To me ... His Twitter profile page appears as one done by a mentally disturbed person
maybe it's just how Firefox displays it .......................... nah
https://twitter.com/MikeBloomberg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Looks like a lobbyists page and an office holders page and a page advertising
