Are we out of luck this year?

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Are we out of luck this year?

I know it is still a long way to the end but have not seen any movement on any gun bills since they were refered to committees. Are we stalled because the committee chairs are against them?

My pops use to say the same thing every time someone called for an employment reference...

"You would be lucky to get him to work for you."

In that same spirit I will say this. I believe all the current bills have the same chance of passing.

Several bills have been scheduled for public hearings. Did you set up alerts on the MyTLO site?

I have some of them set up but have not had time to set them all up. Have just been checking the Texas Firearms Coalition for updates though.

The TFC site doesn't update in real time. Of course, neither does MyTLO, but I'm betting that it updates before TFC. So I'd check there before assuming something has stalled or died. Personally, I set up alerts or all the bills on TFC plus a few others I wan to keep an eye on.

ETA: HB 700 just moved to "scheduled public hearing".

Open question to Mr. Cotton, et al - is there any thought for anyone authoring a bill to prohibit federal agents from absconding with the registries of FFL dealers to prevent them from use as arbitrary databases - federal law already prohibits it does it not, but am wondering if a state statute would be a worthy effort to tighten things down with. Thanks!

No state law can accomplish this goal.

I have most of the bills we are interested in on my watch list. It appears that most of the bills we are interested in have either been left pending in committee or not heard at all.

How long will the be left pending before a formal vote is made?
