Decent presentation.
I would like to see a video of taking a base unit, adding each individual feature one by one, until the military 'look' is achieved.
Could be easily done using a base Ruger 10-22, adding individual features, but resulting in the same functions as the base model, just a different look. It has the same barrel, the same bolt, the same trigger, same action, only the look has changed.

I still dont think anyone has hit on the real reason they're so popular: they are excellent guns. They're a very stable and fairly light shooting platform. They're accurate. They are easy to clean. They're highly customizable for just about any application. 5.56 is cheap and has low recoil (for recreational shooters). It doesnt matter why you own guns, the AR platform covers all your bases and excels in every application. ( except chl i guess).
EDIT: One particular rifle isnt going to take care of every application, just the platform.

I agree with that. My Mosin and Mauser have a LOT more "umph" than my AR does.

Is 5.56 more expensive now per round than full size cartridges or other intermediate cartridges?
